Under normal circumstances, the game caches a valid session key and only asks you to log in if the key gets in some way invalidated or removed. If you have to input your credentials each time, it is most likely caused by something about the way your PC or network connection is set up, or perhaps some kind of nonstandard game installation or launch configuration. I don't really know the specifics of what could cause this, and the only minimally plausible cause I can think of at the moment would be a VPN which changes your location or IP address each time you launch the game. You'd likely need to share more details about how you've got everything configured for anyone to be able to say much more.

Occasionally for no reason, VS requires that I log in and it does not work with the google saved password.   The VS web site does, but not the VS game.

Could also be installs on different drives. I go through this every time there's an rc release, since I keep the rc clients installed on a different drive than my normal game.

I've been using VS launcher for my mod play throughs

I only had that happen to me once out of the blue. usually when it does ask me to re enter the password, is because I have to switch to a different version of VS, or switch to a dedicated testing profile for VS for testing troublesome mods, and not sure what is causing the crash.
