PurpleHairDemon Posted yesterday at 02:36 PM Report Posted yesterday at 02:36 PM I think the game needs a new wood type like mahogany or something, similar to spruce and dark oak in the other block game. I like chiselling furniture and I'm having to keep using polished chert rocks to get the colour I need. 2
LadyWYT Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago Maybe, or maybe we need some sort of pitch or other dark stain to use on wood blocks in order to give them a really dark finish. That way players don't need to necessarily find the exact tree type to get that color, as much as they just need to craft the stain and use it on a light-colored wood. 5

Honestly that would be sick and a much better idea tbh!
ifoz Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) There's "mahogany" in the game files, which is a nice dark brown colour. If you want to see what it looks like in survival, it's used on the underside of display cases, and the 'fine tables' obtained from a certain story location. This is the texture itself: Hopefully one day it becomes properly obtainable! I'd love to build with a wood type of this colour. The devs have also mentioned wood staining being a likely future addition, especially considering linseed oil was added in 1.22. Edited 1 hour ago by ifoz 1
