I just checked this closely.  The ewe says "several days BEFORE ready to mate"

I have Alpaca - female has eaten 10 portions and ready to mate. Close contact with male in an open pit. Forever....they won't mate. I'm in the highlands....maybe it's getting to cold. Maybe they need a roof of some kind. 

Damn you alpacas.
