AlphaRay Posted February 7, 2021 Report Posted February 7, 2021 When you jump in water with burning torch - the whole stack is then "used" (or useless...). Here should only one torch to be damaged. I lost 16 of them and was without light far away from home in the middle of the night Â
martinuzz Posted February 7, 2021 Report Posted February 7, 2021 Good learning moment. Do not jump in the water while equipping a torch. You can turn them back into lit torches in a campfire, although it's faster to just make new ones from sticks. Protip: Lanterns don't go out underwater 1
Streetwind Posted February 7, 2021 Report Posted February 7, 2021 You can also place them in the world and relight them with a lit torch - just like you can relight torches that were extinguished by rain (but not torches that have fully burned out). Make a habit of keeping at least one lit torch in your inventory instead of/in addition to your hotbar, and try to progress towards oil lamps (cheap) and lanterns (powerful). Technically all you need for an oil lamp is killing one large animal (sheep/boar/wolf), finding any sort of clay, and making a campfire.
AlphaRay Posted February 8, 2021 Author Report Posted February 8, 2021 Yes.. i saw it later than i can "recycle" these. But it's frustrating when you're a good way from home. When i have enough room i can split the one torch. So the rest is not effected. Or hold it in the left hand..hm. @martinuzz Thanks for the tip with lanterns Â
