Blender support for modeling new objects?

I'm generally curious on how about building new models/content for this game might go in the future.

 If blender isn't an option, vertex modeling on the VS model maker would be a nice addition to content creation. Making complex low poly 3d objects is hard to do with singular blocks and scaling, and would reduce the time needed to produce models for modding. As long as it's low poly it shouldn't hurt the game too much.

Thoughts?

Yea I would like to add official support for that some day. Until then, modders could already code their own importers for creature models and block models via block entities. Would also be fairly trivial to make it also moddable for non block entity blocks
