But the base game is unlikely to implement a boat until it gets around to a whole water-themed major update, for which there are plans at some undefined point in the future. We've just had a major update this month, so it'll be a while before we know what the next update will be about. There's also a fairly good chance it will not be about oceans and water and boats.
