Breaking placed anvils?

Once you place an anvil, what happens if you break it? Is it destroyed, or does it become in inventory item?

It becomes an inventory item. You'll see anvils frequently used decoratively in builds, especially ones made of lower tier metals that can quickly become obsolete.

In order to actually destroy an anvil, you need to place it into the crafting grid together with a chisel. The chisel needs to have a lot of durability left (near full if it is the same metal tier as the anvil). You'll get an armful of ingots back.

The fact that a furniture item gets visual cracks when you left click it to pick it up has confused me when I first started playing, too. They should really change this. haha

Some official implementation of the Carry Capacity mod would be great.
