Was very fortunate and found a decent cozy little survival server to learn the game with for the first time. It's been a lot of fun. Here are some picture of the the place so far, lot of things are very "in-progress".

Greeting from the Ralas Estate! It's been a productive year, barely got through the list though. A number of new neighbours have arrived, with new roads linking us up, been a challenge to keep up with trade, but has been a nice change of pace. Community remains a highlight, and the server has been running well even though I'm well outside the typical EU range. A raid party was able to overcome the Eidolon.So now with fresh loot, elk are starting to appear as well. Lot of prep work to get back to with upcoming update, hopefully see more fresh faces there!

This is the server I settled on after browsing through a good few, and here's honestly why: The map is very open and has a good amount of variety, and although there's plenty of landmass, people have stayed largely <2k blocks of spawn, rather then on many other server where they be 10-20K. The community is actually active, inviting, and starting to cover a range of time-zones. Things and people are being allowed to actually play-out and structure the world organically over time, without all the tedious "towny-esque" rules, recruitment, drama. Owner is actually around and very responsive. So if a problem does pop up, you'll know/see on the discord what's going on surprisingly fast. So yeah, if you too are tired of bouncing from cheating ops, to generic repeat "insert feudal kingdom" slop as I was, this one might be worth actually checking out for that comfy survival community server feels.
