  1. From your world go into creative mode, /gm 2. Open the bags and bring in the magic wand to your toolbar. Use the ` key (next to 1) to bring up world edit click on the select tool and have the wand selected in your hotbar. Select the start and end point of the selection (left click, right click). Click Copy, type in /we export (thefilename). To import open \VintageStoryData\WorldEdit folder in windows. Click on the import tool, have the wand selected, drag the file from windows into your VS game, left click for the blueprint and right click to place. You may need to change the default file size that it lets you import and export, you can google those instructions. You could probably also use /we import (filename) but dragging it in was always easier for me. No more for adding mods later or having issues with world gen in new areas if you make some changes after world creating. Your milage may very.
  2. Here is a list of mods I like: Alchemy / Animal Cages / Auto Map Marker / Bed Spawn / Better Ruins / Better Traders / Butchering / Carry-on / Food Shelves / Juicy ores / Knapster / Millwright / Player Corpse / Primitive Survival / Stone Quarry / QP Chisel Tools / More Lanterns / Translocator Engineering / Unleaded Windows / Xskills(with the gui) A Culinary Artillery / Expanded Foods. If they are working again and you like cooking Terrain gen map like Terra Pretty or Fields and Plateaus if you want a smoother terrain.
  3. Yeah but have any of you tried running the client and server from the same PC? Sounds a bit silly sure, but the server software aggressively optimizes while the client just seems to keep things loaded in. The biggest drawback to that is that you cannot pause the game.
  4. They have added commands that allow you to spawn in story locations on older worlds. You also have the option of exporting your base and therefor all of your materials into a new world. Changing world gen settings would probably be hit or miss and would only change parts of the map that you haven't been to yet, so if they added a new type of trader or something like that, you would need to go to new areas to find it. Like a few others, I find the challenge (and reward) of survival games to be front loaded. Which feels better, finding your 1st torch holder, or your 10th. I think about how to do it better the next time, or what cool thing to build. The best game will always be early game for me.
  5. Everyone enjoys different levels of grind. Some of them can be tweaked in settings like block and tool durability, some of them can't. Iron is perfectly sufficient in vanilla VS especially if you bring down the creature strength, but even with default settings if you enjoy the challenge of combat. A lot of these can be changed in the config files even after world gen.
  6. And they were never heard from again.
  7. Might be too late, but maybe not, there is a setting for story location distance, perhaps you could change that in the file and then try to respawn the story areas.
  8. It's even harder since they changed the way berries flower and fruit. 30 day month is much better for lots of people coming on for a few hours a week, that gives more people a chance to play in the summer months and prep for winter, at least in my experience. Farming is much more reliable food source as you progress and get more seeds. It also helps if you are supplementing that with ranching, gathering berries and hunting wild game.
  9. You are aware that you can jump to avoid the slam damage and being thrown around? I've never had a problem with a continual locust spawn, I kill the first batch and then finish off the boss. I haven't seen a second spawn, maybe this is new? For those who believe this fight is inconsistent with other gameplay, you're right he doesn't kill nearly instantly like your first encounter with wolves, bears or aggressive pigs.
  10. This happens to me often on a multiplayer server I play on, sometimes requiring a client restart. It appears to be linked either to poor connectivity or server overload. The latter might explain why restarting the server fixes the issue for you, how's your memory, processor and hard drive performance doing on your server?
  11. Less than an hour posted and already 27 downloads. I guess there were more than a few people who agreed with you.
  12. Those aren't barrels, those are buckets without handles. Well done.
  13. My thoughts: This sounds like it would do for tools what Expanded Foods and ACA do for foods. If they do introduce more complexity like this, I hope it would always be an option to turn off in settings, because everyone enjoys different levels of complexity for different parts of a game.
  14. I like building battlements for my walls, and that includes placing barrels for arrows. I am also in favor of seeing a graphic for arrows in barrels as you see with other resources. Even better if there are visual changes for the amount of arrows as can be seen with many other resources.
  15. It might be just me as I use it as soon as I get the schematic, but it feels far less suicidal in 1.20 than it ever has before. I have seen no posts about it in the update logs, but I am convinced that there was a change in the damage, or more specifically how much you have to look up to reset the fall height. No doubt it is dangerous, it takes up a lot of bag slots, and just grazing something in front of you will drop you like a stone. It would be great if the double tap spacebar would reset your fall height. I have been critical of it in the past; however, currently I always keep it on me and swap to a regular bag if I run out of space. It can provide a slight speed boost even on flat ground, that gets even better if you drop several blocks. I usually play with a modified terrain and it would be less useful in vanilla terrain generation, I'll give you that.
  16. In addition to the original post, I was thinking that adding a higher tier glider down the road powered by temporal gears would be nice. Something that reached higher max speeds, stayed up in the air slightly longer, or even had an ability on cooldown to give you a boost upward. It would be nice if there were a vanilla way to appreciate your build from above without having to build ladder towers. I hope the game does progress eventually to some sort of air travel.
  17. I like both ideas of climbing spikes and the ability to crawl. Perhaps the block height you can climb could also be based on material, copper/bronze for 2 blocks, iron/steel for 3 with both using durability of the spikes. Excellent suggestions ifoz.
  18. I think the glider would be more useful if the controls worked like this: activating the glider instantly switches to free look mode (first or 3rd person depending on what you started at) and starts you off at an even glide. Pressing forward angles the glider down increasing speed, pressing back angles the glider up and slows down. Double pressing space closes the glider and opens it back up again to set you back to an even glide.
  19. From lophi. That's where I am getting the names, I am assuming those are all the tracks in the game, I could be wrong about that.
  20. So I dug my headphones out of a drawer, they are nothing special, but they sound better than the soundbar and laptop by far. I can set the music to 20% without it getting too loud. Much better than the 4%. @Never Jhonsen@LadyWYTWould it be fair to say that, having other volumes at 100% while the music is at 50% and 25% respectfully, there are times when the music is twice or four times as loud as you would like it to be?
  21. Hey if yours is good, maybe it is just a system issue. Still would be worth looking into, especially if there are many who feel the same way. Thanks for the feedback Never Johnsen. Haven't tried it with headphones, but I do have a soundbar connected through the aux cable, and have tried it straight out of the laptop, both are overpowering.
  22. 37 tracks and I barely hear most of them. The problem for me is the volume imbalance. I have the music volume set to 4%, everything else set to 100%, any higher than that and I have to go into the settings and reduce it when several songs come on. I'm talking about you: Groove, Hallowcraft, Heartbeat, Daylight, Roots, and JFC Radiance and Rust. Could we raise the lows and lower the highs. I'm not trying to complain here, I just want to enjoy more of the tracks. Bump if you agree. What do you have your music set to?
  23. Most of the vanilla ruins are small. Usually you find a cracked vessel, some bony soil and maybe a torch holder. The mod BetterRuins adds large ruins with lots of loot and with that comes some danger. When digging under vanilla ruins I usually dig under the largest/tallest part of the structure, if there is going to be something 9/10 that's where it will be. If there is a cracked vessel on the surface there will less likely be one underground. These are all from personal experience, your milage may vary.
  24. Looks cozy. Not sure I understand why you are putting skeps and farmland together. Is there something I don't know?
  25. Yes some of the game mechanics and lore are a mystery. There are plenty of things that I wouldn't know without reading patch notes, watching players on twitch/youtube or happening to read them on the forums. I feel like this is intentional. Making chain armor is really hard, until you figure out that mechanical power can assist with most of the process. I hate telling people "There's a mod for that," when they are clearly asking for base game changes, but for most of the things you would like to see in game, there's a mod for that. Wait you want an infinite light source early on? That's called an oil lamp. There is so much to learn in this game. Did you know there are least 5 different resources you could make limewater with?
