This might be a bad take, and I am willing to hear why it's so, but it feels like they keep adding more needless chores every update. I mostly get this feeling when reading the new patch notes (I haven't played 1.22 yet). Here are some examples of what I am talking about. Mechanical power changes. I love the water wheel (even though the new flowing-water type is a little immersion-breaking), but the changes that make your builds catch fire if they are too powerful are a little much. Even when they do implement stronger parts, it seems like it will just add more grind to what mechanical power already is. Berry bushes. There's not really much more to say about the way these are in the update. They were always a pretty lame food source, but now that you have to work harder for them, what's the point? Fat changes. Now you have to worry about it spoiling unless you render it, which just adds unnecessary work that doesn't improve the game. The current version has its own set of issues, too. My biggest pet peeve is how long it takes to get some of my favorite building blocks. Ashlar blocks take hours of quarrying, wattle and daub take forever to gather all the ingredients, and plaster takes an eternity to make. Plus, the tedium of forming and firing enough clay shingles to make a roof. Overall, so many features feel like a tax on my time. I love the game, but I don't have the ability to sink hours into unfun busywork. Am I alone in this line of thought? Do I just need to find a different game? What do you guys think?

This sounds like the best way to ballance bushes to me.

First time on the forums in a while, and this is also my first time looking at the upcoming changes, so here is my initial reaction. A lot of this seems likely to just make the game more tedious and complicated. Berry bushes, fat, ladders, and some of the smithing sounds pretty rough. I'm looking forward to rivers and waterwheels, though. Also, is item bloat of any concern? Doesn't it make searching for anything harder?

Thanks, TFT! I almost thought that I was going crazy when I couldn't find it.

Did they remove the text that showed you the required % of metals for alloys? Did it move to somewhere else in the Handbook?

The circus-sounding music is what I find myself humming most of the time, lol.

I honestly love it! It might just be the crazy hours I have in the game, but I frequently find myself replaying the soundtrack in my head at work. I have a few favorites, but I don't know the names, just what they sound like. Overall, I think they did a great job of giving the game its own identity in that regard.

Agreed. I don't envy their position; it's gotta be a lot of pressure.

It feels like Hytale has been in development forever. I wonder if they will release it into early access before they finish it. The fanbase is huge, and I think they all want to play it.

These pictures are from my base on my family's server. I have a relatively solid vision of what I want to do on the exterior, but I'm stumped on how to decorate and fill in the rest of the base. The first floor I have filled with practical workshops, a kitchen, and storage rooms, leaving the rest of the castle barren. How do you all fill in the interiors of your homes, if ya'll even do? Any screenshots of your current builds would be awesome.

God forbid people have their own opinions. Granted, a couple of posts have been overly antagonistic, but that doesn't mean this thread is toxic simply because some people disagree.

This doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I would rather have more resources allocated to the game I paid for, especially to the remaining story content. Granted, I know barely anything about Hytale, but why would you put effort into a similar project when the original failed?

Appreciate it. Will do!

Thanks! That's a relief.

Sorry if this a stupid question, but I'm still pretty new to the game and even newer to the forums. Do non-hostile animals such as chickens, hogs, or sheep respawn after you've killed them all? Or did I just ruin my chances of starting a livestock farm? Pic unrelated, just the current base I'm working on.
