  1. I think you misunderstood the question here, my fellow dragon. OP's game is marking the deaths on the map, however the in-game auto death marker only marks the LAST death; if you die again, it delete the current death marker and puts it on the new death spot. I've had similar stuff happen to me a few times in the past there is no vanilla way to fix that. As already mentioned, there are mods, and Player Corpse is one of them.
  2. Oh this is beautiful. I LOVE the charcoal "bin" QP's chisel tech that allows for custom items is an absolute blessing for interior designing, and I love that he's adding in more with each update
  3. I was under the impression it was to get to 1000 posts. I'm at 416 posts made, 416 + 584 = 1000 You do have that luxurious 1k under your name now
  4. Of all the idle animations between the three creatures, that's the only one that gave me goosebumps the first time I saw it. Something about the shivers standing up like a normal human creeped me out. You could say it send .. shivers .. down my spine Another reason as to why I love the shivers so much
  5. I had done this earlier as well, as the Wiki didn't have any good shots. I wanna say the knees also got bent backwards. Which really sounds painful But that would explain why they're so slow to run, and why they wobble so much when they do.
  6. I wanna second this statement, both to you (OP) and every new player Your first world I strongly recommend playing Standard Vanilla. Get a feel for the game. Expect to make many mistakes. Take note of what you like and dislike on the game. Then with your second world, make the changes. Add on mods to remove the dislikes, turn features on that you'd enjoy.
  7. I can't find any sources to confirm/deny either theory, but I'm positive that it's a human bent backwards, chest facing upwards. I could have sworn someone said it somewhere, but I'm lost on finding that somewhere
  8. Good news, Vintage Story DOES have season-specific music https://lophi.bandcamp.com/album/vintage-story-ost It also has other task-based music that has a chance of playing. Most are denoted by their names as to when they could play.
  9. It can also spawn at ground level next to the mountain, so keep that in mind as well
  10. Alto Flute, low Been what I've used since. .. was it 1.14 or 1.15 when the creation menu was added? Anyways, despite what posts have said on this forum, I love the voices in the game Little beeps and bops . .. much better than the ole "HUR!" sound we used to have
  11. Bee stuff (honey making, swarming, population growth) Are tied to the calendar, so you can leave the area after placing your skep Bee stuff has a second variable as well; temperature. Bees well "hibernate" at temperatures below 5°C, and as such nothing will progress. Once it warms up, they'll start to be active again.
  12. I've had issues with the hammer "strobbing" the screen when it*s in my offhand as well. I get why it's seeable; I would be seeing it like that in real life as well, were I to punch a block whilst holding a hammer, It's "fixable" by simply just clearing a spot in your hotbar, swapping your hammer into that empty slot, moving off the hammer so it's not in your right hand, doing the action that you wish to preform, then moving it back into your offhand every single time. always. Sarcasm aside, I too, would like to see an accessibility mode that reduces tool flashing on screen. As realistic as it is, unfortunately it comes off different on a screen in a harmful way to some
  13. There is a vanilla Rotate option within the chisel. Look at the chisel block, press the tool options key (I think F is default on QWERTY keyboards), and look for the icon that's an arrow in a circular shape.
  14. Awesome! glad I could help good luck on your steel age
  15. Visually it looks correct, I see nothing missing What about inside the coffin? Did you fill it with 16 Iron ingots, all covered in charcoal? A partially filled coffin will not fire.
  16. I'm with you as well, actually Vanilla isn't the best, especially if you're like me and have soil/cavein's turned on. I have to dig out my stone from the top down, which really sucks if I'm wanting Andesite, but the closest bit to me is under 20 meters of Claystone *cough cough* But at the same time, watching YouTubers play around with that Quarry Mod, it just feels so unnatural to the heart of Vintage Story (TO ME!!!). It takes all the fun out of the game. I would like to see an in-between Something that can make quarry'ing easier than Vanilla whilst staying true to the game's vibe If the quarry mod could remove blocks one- or two-at-a-time, I think even that would be better. Being able to clear out a 7³ area of stone with just a few taps, and carry that around, is more for that other block game than it is Vintage Story.
  17. Before 1.20, going out at night wasn't scary. You had a few bumbling fools slowly following you with dinky rocks. Even running about at night with apocalyptic rift activity was a breeze with no armor. For an "Eldritch Horror" game, nights wern't scary at all. There was nothing to fear. Now there is
  18. I've got an couple thousand hours in with this game, and I have never had cheese either. Dairy's one of those foods I haven't delved into yet. The only driving force to get to dairy is "I made Cheese!" and a tiny extra bit of health, both things I've not cared enough to tackle. If there was more reason to make cheese, then I'll do it, but for now I have other things I'd rather do
  19. This is a feature I love about the game There are many things out there that will humble you, both Eldritch and Natural
  20. The massive amount of clutter that's completely useless. So many of those blocks could have function to them. Like, going through the effort to reglue them just for decoration is useless to me, I'd rather just destroy them to clear the area out.
  21. Before the 1.19 Ruins update, there was a block variant you could find in ruins called "Stone Cobbleskull", which was a cobblestone variant that had skulls in it. Sandstone Cobbleskull, Granite Cobbleskull, Andesite Cobbleskull, etc. Loved that block. IDK if it's still obtainable post-1.19
  22. I too, love to write stories in my game, little one or two page tidbits of things that have happened in my worlds. And I too, suffer with having my Ink in a different location. Here's a photo from my attachments, used it in a different thread once before. I have a table in my bedroom just for the ink bottle, to keep it off the floor (Wouldn't want to spill my ink on the ground tripping over it). I would LOVE to sit it on a shelf. It's fit with the aesthetic vibes, and also keep everything in the same place I do have this mod installed, and while I haven't tried to see if the ink bottle is compatible with it, it is a mod I love just for the bookshelf aesthetics. Ground storage is a wonderful feature about this game that I love, but I wish I could have Ground storage detect a partial block underneath it, and allow itself to compensate for that. Here is another old photo in my attachments: A nice shelf in my Library, big enough for 1/2 a ground storage spot . .. which was a hassle to set up. You can not create ground storage on a block that does not have a full top to it. I had to place a full block above my shelves, start a ground storage spot, then pile blocks all around it so that, when breaking that full block the Ground Storage spot is on, will cause it to fall onto my shelf (Ground Storage has gravity). Now, it will stay as a G/S as long as I keep at least one item inside it. You can do the same for your bookshelf, but A.) you need to keep at least one other item in it so that your Ink bottle can be removed, and B.) all 4 storage spots are still there, meaning you may accidentally place your ink bottle in one of the two floating spots. Anyways, to back up what you said; ink bottle management kinds stinks, it*d be nice to allow it to integrate onto a bookshelf
  23. Loving the concept of panning bony soil whilst in the bath. Silly thought, but one I may steal for myself
  24. The map should be giving you the Y coordinate value for terrain you've already explored, so this sounds like a potential bug(assuming you aren't playing with mods that could affect such). This has been that was since I've started playing. Your immediate area on the map around you shows the proper XYZ coords, but once you start to hover your cursor over unloaded chunks, it loses the Y value. I'm assuming it's a game limitation, as in it can't load that Y value of unloaded chunks. I've gotten around that by putting the Y value into the map markers themselves, such as "Trans 115" to indicate I found a translocator that's sitting at a Y value of 115.
  25. My digital electronics hobby is all done on a dedicated work station While it's possible to dismantle an iPhone in the middle of the woods, I do NOT recommend doing this. Intricate mechanics like Jonas parts should require a stable table of some sorts. After all, they're more fragile than a pie crust
