  1. Pestilence

    Multiplayer survey

I can't imagine being anything other than extremely frustrated by food rot on servers. Having to deal with that sounds like the opposite of fun.
  2. Pestilence

    Class survey

I only play single player and, frankly, I can't imagine ever wanting to deal with the server food rot situation, so I never choose a class other than commoner. The game is already challenging enough without any innate debuffs.
  3. I saw someone on YouTube craft fur clothing using pelts (fat + animal hide). I'm not at my PC and there's no mention of it in the wiki, so I can't confirm it, but I don't think there was a mod involved. Maybe someone else can confirm?
  4. Found lore objects or NPCs providing hints about the surroundings would be PERFECT. I think the original Subnautica is a near perfect example of how a story driven game can still be very sandbox. I don't think Vintage Story should be anywhere near that story driven, but adopting the idea of events or discoveries leaving clues to progression or resources would be an amazing addition.
  5. Does anyone know if the secondary portion of the propick density search results are documented anywhere? All the documentation talks about the meaning of the first part, where ores are listed with their probability text as well as their density ‰ value, but often after that, more ores are listed with text like 'miniscule amounts'. That portion of the output doesn't seem to be documented anywhere. What does it mean?
  6. I just started playing and I don't understand how anyone could have much difficulty finding things to do during the night. Even on day one there is so much cattail root cooking and pottery that needs to be done that I often don't feel like I have *enough* night time. Once you have a pick and some waypoints, it's easy to spend a whole night mining out an ore vein. Once you have oil lamps and fences, your whole base is available for anything you want to accomplish at night. Survival games are about time management. If you know what you need to do and when you can get it done, it's not difficult to line up your activities to keep yourself busy 24/7. Coming from The Long Dark and only recently picking up Minecraft and Vintage Story, it seems a little weird that sleep isn't a survival requirement in either game, but I guess that's because they are multiplayer.
  7. If cooking in a pot is going to work, it will show some text declaring the name of the meal and how many servings will be produced when it's done. If you don't see that text, cooking isn't going to work.
