  1. I'm so confused about this. 1.20.8 was bad for spawns, for me. 1.20.9 fixed it all back to what I recognize at "normal VS behavior" for spawns, but so many people are having issues still! Very strange.
  2. The latest Nvidia driver, you say? They've been having some issues for sure, lately. Would you be willing to try 560.94? That's the latest stable driver with which I've had good luck across a spectrum of games. Also, did you see about the various fixes in this thread? Some of that helped me, a while ago. I don't think your 16GB of DDR3 would be an issue here, either. A few of the players on my small server have lower amounts, with older GPUs, and they all do alright. Fingers crossed you can fix things up! I know the pain all too well.
  3. Puzzling! I've had nothing out of the ordinary in 1.20.9, with existing worlds and new worlds, after a couple hours of testing.
  4. There are local variations, but over 10k blocks, south will be warmer from your start.
  5. Correct. North means it gets colder before getting warmer, south means you immediately start getting warmer.
  6. "Starting climate", and you can pick cold/cool/normal/warm/hot.
  7. If you didn't change polar equator distance, world length, or world width, it should be the same.
  8. Thoughts and prayers.
  9. That was quick! Edit: After some testing in various existing and new worlds, the issue with mob spawning seems to have been solved. Thanks for the fast solution!
  10. Oh, nice! I was expecting either a stable or another RC about now.
  11. I, too, have been wondering! Generally there's a 1-3 week gap between a RC and stable, and we're certainly in the latter part of that usual time period.
  12. Personally, I've been greatly enjoying both bowtorn and shivers. They add to the overall creepiness and tension, and I don't find either particularly annoying so much as... let's say, "persistent threat". Sometimes that threat can be low level, as with surface drifters, and other times the threat is much more significant.
  13. I thought that was a mod conflict on my end! Good to know.
  14. Excellent! Looks like I'll be giving 1.20.5-rc.3 a spin. Thanks for the quick work!
  15. Ooof. That's rough, I'm glad you're already on it, that would be a total no-go for a lot of players. I'll continue sticking with 1.20.4 stable.
  16. Yes, Anvil Metal Recovery if I recall right.
  17. That all seems to be geared towards less immersion, where the development trend is towards more immersion.
  18. You can't? I have it configured on my server. It's shivertweaks.yaml and you can open it with Notepad++ or VSCode or whatever. Here's mine for an example:
  19. Shiver Tweaks has that, among other, options.
  20. Might I suggest a mod? SuperFuel - Resumed It also gives graphite a use.
  21. Welcome to the forums! I hear you, I really do. When I first played VS, I couldn't believe how engrossing it was. After that first bit of game time, I came back to it the next day "to play a few minutes". Hours later when I stopped, I realized that they have an absolute winner of a game.
  22. Wow, talk about an overwhelmingly skewed poll result! I'll be fascinated to see if it gradually shifts to a different winner over the coming two weeks, as perhaps "early responders" are more likely to want dejank and polish as we likely play more frequently.
  23. Aww, your Seraph was just so sleepy!
  24. That is substantially more than I thought it spiked, I'm amazed anything held together well enough for any of us to play on update day. That's wild! I swear that was a mod at one point... Hide & Fabric, I think?
  25. And, to be fair, anyone with ore blasting bombs can absolutely harvest it right then and there. I generally end up with ilmenite ages before I can actually make the steel pounder caps to pulverize it.
