Helve Hammer not completing Iron bloom (missing voxels)
WiggleStick replied to Unuson's topic in Questions
Heat it and rotate it 90 degrees when you place it on the anvil. so it has to move the voxels. -
Vintage Story Causing Windows to Stop Responding
WiggleStick replied to Tentarro's topic in Discussion
Check your #1 Core load in task manager, performance, I had to turn on all my cores in windows. that got it off 100%. It still uses #1 core More than the others, but it shares more workload. I then limited my FPS to 70 and that lowered the #1 core to about 80%. FPS is still mostly 55-60 which is very smooth. That way I could keep my view distance to 1024 and settings to max Before that I would occasionally hardlock where I couldn't bring up task manager until I figured out After control alt. delete followed by Alt TAB to show the Task manager and VS Black screen.to chose from. I could only Hit the X and close VS. then The task manage would come up and I could shut down VS in the task manager. No error log or anything to show whats wrong. I figured it was a rare problem But its no longer an issue. -
I ran into this and put the transmission on the horizontal shaft under the floor and used a trap door to access it. You can't use it upside down either so you need to put it on a shelf of some sort.

I just did it, Place 6 Grates, Place coffin, look at coffin and shift right click. I put the door on when complete.

Buying from the tader with a (nearly) full inventory...
WiggleStick replied to Broccoli Clock's topic in Discussion
If you don't Travel too far they will set on the traders floor for as long as your settings for dropped inventory items before disappearing. I've not realized in time and ran back and they were gone. If you have longer settings for dropped items and they were gone instantly then it was a bug or a mod. -
One more thing to check. Since 1.20 I absolutely can not leave Any browsers running in the background. This was not a problem in 1.9x.

Your CPU seems fine, You Video card seems a little weaker (Mine is only a 3060ti), But I would think it Should work better. I have 32g ram, But the other thing I did, had some effect was, to turn on all my cores since my #1 Core was pegged @ 100% and over heating. After that It would still hit 100%, but would run between 85-95% most of the time. I also set my FPS in game to 72. I run between 50-70 fps pretty consistently, after playing a while and traveling large distances I See my FPS Monitor dropping ( looking fuzzy) I save and reload and it steadies out I don't blame you for not wanting to go with a lower View distance I don't like going to 512 so I adjust everything to use 1024. I would rather turn everything to minimum to keep my view distance up.

I Started Here (originally posted by ieatchickens) In-Game settings: Max FPS: unlimited V-Sync: off Nvidia Control Panel: Low latency mode: Ultra - default is off. V-Sync: Fast Sync - regular and adaptive didn't work. Off should work too if you don't have fast sync in the options but the screen will tear. FPS limit: 150 - double the refresh rate of my monitor - for fast sync to work and to reduce the GPU usage. Threaded optimization: off - default is auto. I still had some stuttering with it set to auto. Turning it off solved the issue for some reason. From there I set graphics to max and started turning things down to get the best fps. Alt F3 to tun on FPS graph 1 turned off God Rays 2 SSOA, Shadows, Particles, to 1/2 slider LOD Bias to 67% My View Distance is 1024 and this works for me you may need to go lower. I also save after a while and restart and that seems to help.

Debug, Polish, and Finalize. Enjoy the satisfaction of completion. Nothing is heavier than an unfinished project. If you decide there is more after that. Start VS2, For what I paid for this experience, I would gladly do it again.

At what point do you stop looking for a halite deposit?
WiggleStick replied to Chuckerton's topic in Discussion
It is around somewhere. I never have failed to find salt or any ore. When you are low on Picks stick to high percent areas but when you have picks to spare you can expand your search. I was on 104 hrs and went back to an area that had 7 chunks at 22-23% and had burrowed all over for nothing. I picked a direction to further dig, I headed north the next chunk out was 18%, I kept going and the next chunk was 16% and I hit the dome. On the way I found Black Coal with Fire Clay and Brown Coal as well as copper, all of which were low to minuscule percentages. Another time While going horizontal I Density search the ceiling as I hit new chunks the 3rd pick exposed Hematite, while the results were minuscule. so yea the readings are potential and should be taken as such. But like I said Play the percentages until you can afford the picks, Horizontal mining takes some resources, and armor if you hit caves. -
This happens a lot in 1.20, but I have been using /kill self to get out so I like this. It happened for awhile in 1.9 but you could just walk out. Kind of an exploit because you could hit but not get hit.

I don' know about brass springs, but I agree with steel springs. By the time your in steel some door automation seems doable. Maybe coil the springs on a mandrill off the windmill and heat it to "set" it. Even different sizes for different applications.

I like the Idea of naming your weapons. say after you make "X" number of a weapon you can add a gem or ore to the recipe and it will be given a name or you can chose one for it.

Alternately, Mounting the tool head to a stick seems to be more likely of an area of improvement. You could carve the handles from a log, maintaining wood type ( like with boards) for better durability for better wood like Oak as opposed to Pine. You could also create a recipe for crude, simple and finely carved handles to further give additions to durability.
-
Epoxy? I think that's a little modern, Having done this IRL myself.
-
Are you talking modern or primitive?
-
I'm not promoting changing anything, but IRL you slide the metal tool head onto the handle and drive a wooden or metal wedge into the head end of the handle to secure it and then soak it in a bucket of water to swell the wood.
