old topic but yes that seems correct, there is something called hackingtosh place that creates solutions to make Mac OS bootable on non-mac laptop/pc but i read that newer mac os is dropping support for intel cpu's all together so that means it's gona be a byebye to hackingtosh method after since from now on MacOS is only going to support Apples own cpu's chips and it will make MacOS unable to boot on non Apple CPU's

Hi everyone, I'm writing this in english to make it look fair to avoid confusion. I have been thinking of starting a vintagestory server community for swedish players and ofcourse we can have a website + forum where we post about our server and so on. So i wanted to see if there is any active swedish players on here who plays this game and has possible some following skills: PHP Mysql CSS/JS/HTML and some plugins coding skills for server coding as well. Idea is to start a team on their free time who has skills to code a own website system like a own forum from scratch or CMS + forum to make our site unique to us only and a web designer who does the designing for website. Then a dev team that does the plugins for server/game so it can possible communicate with website system so that when you join as non-member it spawns you in a spawn area like a town and then you can only look around and such but you cannot build, use items etc until you signup on the website so the plugin in game can move your in-game user over to Member group where you get rights to interact with more things and claim lands etc. Keep in mind that this is a free project, nothing that will offer payment for work, therefore you must be willing to do this on your free time and we will mostlikely have Donation on our site to cover some costs and rest over will be shared to fairly to team as a appreciation for the time and work they have done So i hope anyone or more here is interested in my idea.

doesn't game do that on linux already? Every time i launch my game it tells me when a new version is available and i click update and it will download and update the game automaticly.

what OP did was go into firewall in windows, since windows has built in firewall software that some times blocks programs/games on default, by either not listing them or having public and local network unchecked. So if not listed you add vintagestory process file of server to it and check the public and local network and save that should allow traffic for both networks on server.

I could guess they deleted it because you went off-topic asking support related thing in some 1 else topic which counts as a topic hijack. Alot of sites do not tolerate that you go in some 1 else posts related about another issue and asking people for help with your issue, if you have a issue. Then start your own topic.

are you renting your server or owning it and you mean dedicated server? Also i had some thoughts of doing the same starting a community vintagestory server with city for a spawn and with mods that will prevent players from damage, modify the spawn and such. But that they can buy land or something and build on themselves.

No problem. I don't like when people goes against LGBTQ, queer etc like they are human just like me and i respect everyone. since it says here: Warning! Problems with VintagestoryServer.dll! Make sure user vintagestory has read/write access. read/write access is issue, try doing chmod 666 on files and 777 on folders and see if that may fix it. Another thing i noticed is this /home/[USER]/server: Permission denied is your path /home/vintagestory/server?

vintagestory requires Net 7.0 not 9.0 since it does not support 9.0 so using 9.0 is not recommended, best is to remove 9.0 and install 7.0 if this is on linux.

There is something called Game Server Hosting, Some places that sells just game server itself without vps, dedicated server. It makes you control game server only, with stop, start, restart and then you get access to file manager, FTP etc, that way you pay only for game server itself and how many slots you want instead of spending on a dedicated server. Dedicated Server is meant to do more than runing 1 game server. So you 2 would be wasting money on a dedicated server.

well, wouldn't it be better to find some host that sells vintagestory server alone? you 2 would save on that instead of renting a dedi server for just that.

Are you 2 going to rent a dedicated server? Well is it for vintagestory only or for other things as well, if other things then i would get more than 8GB RAM, but it also depends on budget you 2 have got per month so if you can tell us maximum amount, then i could probably help and suggest some places.

Hamachi only opens a local network between you and ones connecting to you. So not very useful if you want to run a public open server with people around the world.

well for minecraft there is a plugin/mod that lets you use an axe that you bind into a tool function so you can mark ground from 1 corner to other etc and then when you marked your area you type /claim and it will claim the specific area and then anyone else who tries to build there will see their block flash quickly and a text saying "You're not allowed to build here" or something and if you break a block it will say "You are not allowed to break blocks here" and so on. But about groups thing you mean vintagestory already has that? since all i understand is that it has only for exisiting ones, but idk if that can be added more and with build premissions and not etc.

Hi Idk if i posted this in wrong section, but if i did then mod/admin may move it for me. I'm looking for a mod that adds premissions/groups function to server, so it makes new players who joins can only interact with limited things but not build and modify the spawn and other peoples buildings. While users with member group/access they can build and do everything a new member can but they can't break, edit other peoples build and cannot access their chests, house. Then there you can also have mod and admin group so staff members can help on server Not last but least i also want to have so it uses [Admin]PlayerName, [Mod]Player Name, [Member]PlayerName, [Guests]PlayerName and so on. Also mod shall prevent those who can build cannot modify/break other peoples stuff and same cannot access their chest and house without premission. Minecraft has this type of plugin/addon and i hope there is similar for vintagestory. But i haven't found any yet or it just me not looking correctly, since mod is named completely something else than what i was searching on.

download them from mods page and stop server and then re-place old .zip with new one and your done.

you can self host your own server for free, but you gota pay 8 Euro a month for a hosted server as you can see on picture. I think you missunderstood what they mean by LAN, They mean LAN = Server only not auth end. Auth end will always need connection. But you can host a local/LAN server for private LAN party etc. Minecraft is exactly the same, you gota login to their auth server or you can't play. It's only a way for game to verify you got a legit paid account to play it, if you don't you can't play, mostlikely to prevent game from being cracked.

in what way does this have anything todo with political agenda?? all i can see is it's about a vintagestory server they host that is LGBTQ, queer etc friendly.
