  1. when i find lore books i feel like im filing my taxes. immigration papers have more class than the font in this game please change it. i get it might be a big deal for the size of the text bugging out and ruining a lot of formatting in the game. if you just change it to something similar in size but with some actual elegance to it, then the game might actually look nice for once. FOR ONCE.
  2. thats what i was thinking with my despawning rule as well. that they would just despawn and then new ones would spawn and head into the water and then depending on how intense that cycle of spawn ticking is, it could slow down the server. however, like you said. if their general random pathfinding never has them decide to go into water EXCEPT for a life or death situation it might be just the solution. i'll keep on brainstorming options here until it gets attention i guess.
  3. id like to brainstorm ideas here if this does get picked up and examined. I was thinking if an animal is out in the water too long and over water thats too deep it should just drown. this would probably make a lot of dead entities and little the ocean floor with carcasses. a fix would be to just despawn them once they hit that drowning point. that is if you wouldnt want to have to give them ai that makes them constantly pathfind back to land and have congregations of animals hanging out at the beaches all the time waging war. seems to be a lot more theoretical issues that pop up every step i decide to take with my thought process so if any one wants to help cook up the perfect solution please enter the conversation
  4. this sorry excuse for an aquatic update. animals should not be allowed to do this and it looks so stupid. migrating hemispheres through the ocean like sea turtles.

  6. this might be a little late but [/serverconfig setspawnhere] thats what i used. you can put in a good little location where your village or town is where you do most of the living and doing at the same time you can change the spawn radius to be HUMANLY reasonable like 0 or 10 blocks using [/worldconfig spawnradius (0-1000000)] i think vintage story handles it pretty badly for players who arent die hard purists, given the difficult of climbing out of a jungle every time you die. i want a game not a test of will power.
  7. A really small thing. For years, on minecraft, we have enjoyed a runny, jumpy, arm-and-leg flailing player character to the point where we probably don't notice how out of place it is with the seraphs. It looks really stupid in this game and it's BECAUSE vintage story was made to look smooth, that, combined with the way floatier jumping and bunny-hopping-like physics of running and jumping in the game. I think a jumping animation really would fit nicely with all of the other smooth actions the player character makes and add almost a beauty to players hopping and frolicking along through fields of berries.
