  1. FFS why does everyone continue to discuss topics other than the update in these threads? Fucking rpers!!!
  2. Did it get changed? I can't really tell anymore since I have blue eyes and blue skin until the human skin tones mod is updated. It's a little easier to see in the character creation since it is larger than in-game.
  3. I might be mixing my parts, but to make it simple, black center, color surrounding. The game appears to be backward.
  4. Well the 2 have nothing to do with each other, but it is just a general observation, granted the sample size of this community is really small lol. I don't know about 1.21 since it seems to have bugged out on me, I have to try the reset command, but the trader dialogue shows completed and I have no red X. I also make use of the distance setting to set it to minimum, and I also use custom world sizes to make it a 50k planet, 25k to equator.
  5. I had to google chibi uwu but lol, I still think the seraphs look worse. The iris should be colored, the pupil should be black. It isn't cool. It isn't edgy. It's just creepy. That along with the multiple equators is one of those extremely minor details that has no effect on gameplay whatsoever but still irks me to no end. For a game that puts so much effort into being realistic, these are unrealistic things that serve no purpose.
  6. Kinda proves my point, even if it was made tier 5, it still wouldn't make one invulnerable, but it would be more reward for the level of effort. Some of you can't be bothered to make steel. Interestingly, it also seems to be the same crowd who doesn't think the default amount of travel for the story mode is excessive. That alone says something is wrong.
  7. So among the QOL features that I consider essential, inventory tweaks and autorun(because they, like most mods was broken by 1.21). Why are these things just not built-in??? PS, also hanging oil lamps.
  8. I agree for the effort it takes to make it, steel armor is rather disappointing. I think it should be made tier 5, yes, I know that makes it higher tier than all the mobs. Bosses should be t5 then. That would also make other metal armor more worthwhile, since copper could be made 2 and bronze 3. Honestly bronze is superior to iron, especially early iron. Iron was just more plentiful and readily available. Bronze weapons will actually hold a better edge. Bronze is harder (although I am not sure if it is less tough because of it; usually hardness and toughness are at odds with each other). It could be argued that it should be T3. Then copper could even be T2. As it stands now I don't even bother with metal armor until steel, and from reading the forums it seems I am not alone. While all the penalties make sense for realisms sake, for gaming it just sucks. Remember the game hour is only 2 minutes and so we don't have time for every little action. I have found https://mods.vintagestory.at/stripper#tab-files alleviates some of the pain at least (because you're still tying up 3 or 4 inventory slots) I'm thankful for the distance settings for the story content, because some of us don't have the time or inclination to spend hours and hours traveling, especially since the autorun key still doesn't work and sailing until 1.21RC1 also really sucked. There are too many mind-numbing and RSI inducing things in this game. I have still yet to experience any of the story content, especially since by the time I get myself well-established, it is time to wipe the world for a new version. It starts to get tiresome.
  9. It's the eyes, it is creepy that the iris and pupil are reversed and it just doesn't make any sense. I also was disappointed that homo sapiens mode doesn't have a human model.
  10. Ok, so much as I miss most of my mods, at least the most critical have RC1 updates, which is good, since 1.21 seems to have broken almost everything (I realize there was a lot of refactoring). Being this is the first time I have played with vanilla terrain generation since my very first game, I have to say I feel it is very much improved. I didn't even have to travel 10km to find Bauxite for a change, and this is the same seed I've been using for a while.
  11. I'll be happier when the human skin tones are updated for the new models. Yes, the smile does look menacing, but considering how harsh the world is, I'd say it is the smile of an "uncompromising survivor"
  12. Is this still working properly? Is there somewhere outside the folders where paths might be stored? Like registry or environment settings? I installed RC1 yesterday, with the datapath. It created it, and it worked right for a couple loads but then something janked up and it kept going to the normal path no matter what I did. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. Finally just went back to stable in frustration.
  13. Maybe as an option for "wilderness survival" mode but not as the default. Although who am I kidding, I will likely never play this game in MP so it's a moot point for me.
  14. Yes it is. I have exceeded the number of reactions I am allowed for the day or I'd have just given this a like. I didn't think it was a thing. Had I known I wouldn't have gone tossing them around the builds section with reckless abandon. The creds argument is a bit silly for gaming forums. Go on LinkedIn or something and share resumes if you guys really need to have a dick-match I've removed and refactored tons of lines of code too; I try to do things with as few lines of code as possible, of course input-validation and error-checking tend to add a lot of complicated code. I can't even talk smack about others sloppy coding since I've spent a lot of time cleaning up my own older sloppy code and sitting there scratching my head going "How is this even working? How does any of this work?" but it did the job at the time, got modified over the years and eventually comes to a point where it is easier to just scrap it and start over. Oh yeah, and it made me forget why I looked at this thread in the first place; is the PR stable enough to play and has it broken a lot of mods? I haven't played in quite some time and I felt the urge, but I like a lot of what I see in the patch notes for the latest. Do I just wait for the stable release?
  15. Currently I'm running about 90 mods. Yeah, I have the same issue. Monitoring computer temps, Celsius. The odd occasion I have to deal with scientific calculations, Celsius (sometimes Kelvin). What's the temperature outside? Fahrenheit! Even when I'm in Europe, I'll convert it in my head from C to F. OMG! Mods I needed badly but didn't know existed! Thanks! Except VoiceVolume gets a 404. The voices drive everyone in the house insane (myself, wife, both dogs)
  16. These are all things I wish I had known as a noob that I had to figure out on my own as well. The bit about lamellar made me laugh, but yes, it's a thing. There's no shame in using the settings or mods. Without them I absolutely hate this game honestly. The fact that support for modding was built in from the begining, instead of as an after-thought, is the saving grace.
  17. Dig like your life depends upon it, but yes, airspaces as needed. Terraria! I haven't played Terraria in forever, ahh, used to love that game. I haven't done a rigorous analysis of it, so just "muh feelz" I'm going to say yes. Collecting wood is a constant chore, there is no getting around it in this game, but if I can do less of it by doing something else, then yeah, it reduces the general monotony of the game. I can always use that wood for something else. Besides, you still have to dig, and digging that airspace and sitting there a minute gives your fingers a break. Time to collect wood to make ladders + time to make ladders vs Time to dig air spaces. Also Inventory spaces consumed by ladders could be a factor. Unless you know how deep you have to go beforehand, too few and you're in trouble, too many and you can't carry as much metal back. How many stacks of ladders do you need to carry? Then compare RSI costs of both activities.
  18. He means to dig your mineshaft underwater. That's how I mine; I don't use ladders, I carry a bucket of water always. Granted this relies on buckets able to create source blocks.

    About Peat

Yeah, I prefer peat for cooking. Actually I would really prefer it for brewing since I loves me single malt scotch me do.
  20. Wow! That is beautiful, can't wait to see it done.
  21. Maybe a screenshot of the underfloor? I am having trouble visualizing the drop.
  22. So this is interesting, but I'm not sure how I would go about building it. Maybe because I haven't played in a while. Are these chiseled slabs?
  23. Yet here you all are responding to it...
  24. I say focus on all the new content, then polish content, then fix bugs. All too often when the new content is added last I feel like it is a crappy bolted on extension. I've lost count of how many games I love the base game but the DLC are absolute shit, especially if you come to the game as a new player. If things are planned and integrated from the get go then it is easier to work out the kinks and they can be seamless and provide a better user experience.
  25. Big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to these deposits.
