On the predator thing, it's already kinda implemented: animal corpses.
Judging how they were killed you can find out what kind of predators are in the area.
By upping the spawns of small game, or maybe directly spawning corpses, and maybe add some sound indicators like flies buzzing by can help determine whether it's a safe area to settle or not.
I'd like it to be possible to catch other insects other than bugs.
Needless to say, I was heartbroken when I crafted a bug net and I found myself unable to catch crickets and fireflies
(the reason I crafted it, BTW)
I'm on my first playthrough and I just noticed the issue of all the ice not being gone by summer. Now I'm in August on a (1.20 gen world) and I still have ice hanging around in seas and in lakes. Some areas are 1/3 ice.
Glad it was a known issue and not just a me thing.
what's this symbol on the screen near "Low fertility soil" and is it related to my inability to stack rope on the ground?
I don't seem to have the same issue with sticks. Haven't tried firewood or peat yet.
Upon further testing in creative mode, it seems only rope coils have this problem. Keep in mind that I'm a new player so I may not have tested every possible stackable item. Reported the bug on the issue tracker.
oh, and since I'm already posting. Why can't you make ropes out of tule?
I think they are neat, and they'd fit the vibe.
The basics for the implementation are already in the game.
Also, we need meat preservation techniques.
Also also PEMMICAN, why limit yourself to using berries for jams only?
upon further thinking we have no way to smoke meat, so that's a strike
