  1. I could be on board with this change. At min, have it protected from the rain but I like the idea of it having to dry as well, say 20 hours or something.
  2. not true. If that was true, nobody would be talking about making changes to anything in the game. Your logic can not apply to ONLY things attached to lore, that logic would apply to literally everything. even the smallest of change. and please do not try to suggest your hours and hours of loved game play is all linked directly to story expereince, just do not go there with me please becasue that is a hard stop with me. While you are making clay and working on steel you feel those actions are tightly coupled to the story experience? no, I am not having that conversation oh and Storms are NOT tightly coupled to the lore. They are at best tightly coupled to a few conversations that could easily be changed without affecting lore and one tapestry. oh and its circular to say 'the developer wants this so it aint changing' in a forum subject that is literally about changing it.
  3. my position is immutable, I would perfer they work on the examples I gave over anything else in the game. I am not changing my view on this so maybe stop responding.
  4. no it does not clarify. In some cases jank can affect everything but more often than not if you have jank in a few specific cases its not because of the global physics. More over, as the game sits right now its 'jank' level in my opinion is stable enough that I would rather them focus on other things like trains, tempering etc. My opinion on this is immutable and not up for debate with me. I was just sharing my view. EDIT: oh and by the way, I am willing to bet you that the global jank you are refering to is literally MC code
  5. I do not know what any of this has to do with my observation so I will just repeat it. I would rather them work on trains rather than the jank you are refering to. Jank is not global to all game features, its feature specific so fixing the jank on animals is not going to make trains any better.
  6. to note, I have not experienced an increase in animal spawns due to planting my own forest. I think wild vegetation has different coded attributes than planted or replaced ones. Additionally if you plant a tree or several trees the terrian does not change to 'forest floor' I would assume 'forest floor' would affect animal type spawns. I am not sure but something to consider
  7. On passive I have had bears and wolves attack me, here is what I think is happening. If the predator is currently on a hunting pursuit and you cross that path line, you then become the meal. This is just a guess, but its fairly common which is why I steer clear of bears and wolves even in passive mode. Now regarding Bowtorns I do not know
  8. I have been playing games for 45 years now and by playing games I mean a lot for 45 years. I think this is my favorite game ever, the only one that might beat it would be Wurm Unlimited (yeah I know vast majority of people do not like it but I do)
  9. I wish people would take an objective look at the story in a video game, try to remove their emotional childhood attachments that video games stories are supposed to be outstanding, then take a story like perhaps the mini series 1883, Hell on Wheels, Better Call Saul, Vikings and then with a serious face try to tell themselves said game story is anywhere remotely close to as important or as good of a story telling as those shows. No where remotely close to the level of depth and human story telling. I can see a child thinking a video game story about Sonic the Headhog is better than Better Call Saul but come on people! rant over, I hope I did not offend anyone but sometimes I just have to be fully honest.
  10. 1. I do not know what 'Jank' is. 2. Opportunity cost means while you are spending time working on lore you are not spending time building trains regardless of how high the tech debt is. So the amount of tech debt involved in making trains is not related to the Opportunity Cost of not working on it.
  11. That does look like fun and what I am about to say is not a dig at you just a general observation. This image is a good example of why its good to watch some youtube tutorials before playing any game.
  12. I would much rather have trains then any of this stuff personally.
  13. I have seen a fox jump over a dead animal it killed. I think maybe if an animal is 2 blocks high anything obstructing that second block might prevent it? just thinking out loud I do not know
  14. ok, that is what I have been doing. two fence high. I have seen a fox jump over a dead animal using single high fence.
  15. so basically you are saying no fences period? because even at 10 fence high animals can glitch thru? Problem is I heard that they also need sunlight, so put them in a walled greenhouse? I have no idea what the best action is , someone really needs to set the record 100000% straight on this, I have played for 1000 hours now and have only had one pen for about 20 hours of that because I have no idea how we are supposed to do this.
  16. agreed on the conflicting statements. I have read the same conflicts leaving me perplex. That said, I have witnessed a fox jump into my single fence height without there even being snow. I think he stepped over a dead animal. Regardless, I used double high fences and problem went away.
  17. The VAST majority of the things examples you gave are not tightly coupled to storms. A trailer is not lore. the phrase 'uncompromising' is not a storm. temporal instability is not synonyms with monster storms. Most of the lore examples you gave do not even mention storms and are very vague with many things that could be applied to literally billions of different things. So the only thing you posted that comes actually close to being tightly coupled with storms at all are some things in your NPC dialogue. Everything else is not remotely related to my request nor remotely tightly coupled with the lore requiring specifically storms. In fact, they could remove the dialogue that contains storm, change the name of the tapestry and I can assure you the universe would still operate just fine. To take that even further, they could make 'the storm' a place you go to (like the Rust area they added) and not change a single line in the dialogue at all. That was my point, which to glot, I accurately made without even knowing the lore. Why are we acting like NPC dialogue at end game is some kind of immutable sacred text in the first place? I play along with that parameter but really my opinon is I do not understand why such dialogue can not change as long as it does not affect the overall 'plot' if there even is one.
  18. people have made the claim without providing evidence in the story text that would show that the storms are basically hard coded into the story and could not be represented in a different way. and until that evidence is presented I am sticking to my statement. everything I have heard thus far is interpretive conjecture and that is that.
  19. I am not convinced that removing storms would really contradict the lore. I do not know the lore but I know how people inject their own interpretation to justify what they THINK they want (and no I am not immune to that). I am willing to be that one could remove the storms and it NOT conflict with the existing lore.
  20. 1. I think they should go away. 2. I think everyone needs to get more grounded on 'the lore' and stop treating it like its an immutable sacred text written to be handed down to multiple generations, take a breath step back. We do not have to try and interpret every single aspect of the lore as if its a legal State Constitution written 200 years ago.
  21. yes. I am so done with tower defense building games. Just done, finished, done, nope, no more, turn it off. Anyway, I would rather they focus on more game mechanics like they have listed for the upcoming update, elevators for example. And as far as everyone throwing around the card 'but the lore'. This is not shakespeare , lets get more grounded here its not a sacred text
  22. lol..yeah best selling yet a lot of complaints just bring it down right? talk about a massive contradiction anyway, its a building game not Escape from Tarkov
  23. MC is doing just fine, its the best selling game of all time, it just fine. thanks though
  24. awesome
  25. that is not true, I am not even taking a position of that being my opinion. I have played Xskills plenty of time and in all cases I get the skill before I get the stuff I want to get done done. I never changed by play at all and yes BOTH multiplayer and single player. Now MAYBE if a person just wants to max out XSkills themselves, perhaps but why? regardless, no grinding required in XSkills
