The thing I see people stumble with most often, at least on this mod thread, is the exact layout of the recipes. Specifically for the mixing bowl. Hell, I even forget if it's been a while since I cooked something.

I was actually looking to see if your mod was updated for 1.15. Since I use your mod pretty heavily I should probably wait to update the game?

Kind of curious. Is it possible to add the types of rock in the display area? One of the pain points is figuring out which types of rocks are where while prospecting.
-
I think the nutritional levels are fine the way you have them. I just wish you could stack bottles. Maybe like 5 bottle stacks? If that's not technically possible maybe make it so that 1 liter gives you at least half your satiety back?
-
It would probably help if the game had a thirst mechanic. One liter of any liquid would be good for a few days.
But more portions might work but I wouldn't want you to throw off your mods balance. How are you factoring the satiety? I just looked it up and a liter of carrot juice (for example) would equal about 400 real life calories. That seems to track close to how you currently have it set.
-
Well, 1 liter of carrot juice will only refill maybe 1/3 of your health bar at most. I think my main issue though is that bottles don't stack but other food items do. You can even stack bowls of food as long as they have the same food in them.
Either way, it's not a huge issue. I just wanted to mention it as a suggestion for possibly making liquids a bit more useful.
-
So one concern about liquids. The fact that bottles don't stack kind of makes them really unattractive to use. Is there something I'm missing with them? Maybe a better drinking vessel?

Yes, that's the point of the one on the table.
I was thinking of being able to feed it with a hopper and have it dump the output into chests. But now that I think about it I don't see how that would work considering it's input is more complicated than the quern.
-
@l33tmaan Just curious. Can the mixing bowl be automated like the quern?

But that's already in the game!
Wait... pickled eggs aren't in the game...
Oh you're right! I've never used it because veggies last a very long time on their own in the game. I think that should change. There's no way that all my onions and carrots last for 90 days even in storage.

So we've got cured meat and pemmican for protein, dried fruit and pemmican for fruit, and hardtack for grain... what are some long-term forms of vegetables and dairy I could add?
I know some kinds of cheese last a very long time. I think I had a brick of parmesan in my fridge for a couple years.
Pickled veggies are alright, but I'm thinking of something that lasts drastically longer.Pickling is definitely the main long term storage for veggies. It's a good way to preserve eggs too. I remember spending summers at my grandmothers helping her pickle and jar her garden veggies.
-
Oooh yeah! I do have a lot of grain too.

Bread it huh? I'll give that a try. I wanted to make a bunch of pemmican for a long trip across the map. But I'll manage. I just wanted to check to see if I was doing it wrong.

I don't think so, no. Only meat nuggets and aged meat nuggets. I guess I can add cured meat nuggets to the recipe as well.
Yeah I don't think it should prevent you from making pemmican. I ended up with a ton of salted meats after going on a hide run and now I don't know what to do with it! You can't really make it into sausage either correct?
-
Does salted cured meats work in the pemmican recipe?

also just released a patch so the firepits and torches should release carbon monoxide over time.
Is there a way to turn this off?

Finally got the barrel of resin to cure! I had to break the barrel in order to get the resin to drop, which is kind of what I expected.

@JamesB What version of the game are you on and what version of the mod?
So I just double checked my version and noticed that I was one version behind on the mod. So I updated, reloaded, and the issue went away. I can't wait until there's a way to check for new mod versions in game!

OK, so I just tried putting a cooking pot on a fire then left clicking the bucket over one of the cooking slots and the nugget came out. I couldn't get it to do that in the crafting window though nor in an inventory container like a chest.

Yeah. Left click?
Left click just picks up the bucket then puts it down. So let me try and clear up some confusion. You are able to get the resin from the bucket and turn it into one of the resin nuggets right?
-
@jakecool19 Just an FYI, I noticed last night that I was unable to craft an iron pickaxe. So I went through every mod turning it on and off. When I came turned on this mod that's when it broke. So I think something is conflicting with the crafting. Can you or someone else verify this?

I was able to get it out without issue. Bucket or bottle, you should be able to place it into a chest or something
I feel like we may be mixed up. I'm expecting something like this:

No, you can't use it to make gears. You're right, it turns into solid resin. Are you asking how to get it out of the bucket? Can you just empty it into a container?
Nope. Can't pour it out. Can't put it in any containers that I know of. Breaking the bucket does nothing either. It's just a bucket that says it has "0.1 liters of resin"

What do you mean? It's a liquid.
So I thought "fresh resin" was the liquid form. When it cures into "resin" I thought it would turn into the same item you can harvest from the side of pine trees? But I'm guessing you're saying we can just use "resin" from the bucket for constructing gears and such?
