Not only fences. A few days ago, I perfectly saw a drifter jumping out of the pit (depth 2) in which they fall during the night. There was no snow and no other mob, item or drifter that could have been used as a stepladder. He just escaped ! Most players already have experienced the same thing.

    They're evolving!

You're not dumb, I didn't really explain it, so it's not obvious. They function like stair pieces -- try aiming at the "top" half of a block it's next to when placing it down, it'll switch to the corner model. It can be tricky, but I wanted to make it so you didn't have to craft corner pieces separately.

I was able to sort out the corners.  But the thing I'm really having trouble with is putting down flat roof pieces side by side and on top of each other.  I've tried clicking on all parts of the box and I seem to get random placement each time.

I'm not aware of one, but one easy fix you should check is to make sure you're placing pieces in order from the windmill to the quern. If you connect a powered component (like a windmill or something that is connected to it and rotating) to an already placed unpowered component (an axle or gear existing in the world and not rotating) sometimes a glitch causes it not to work. I read this on the wiki a while ago and since then I've always placed my components in order from windmill to output, so I don't know if it's still an issue, but you might try connecting piece by piece, making sure each newly placed piece turns, and see if that makes a difference or at least shows you where your problem is.

This may be my problem.  Because I already have the gears and axles to the tools set.  I'm just adding the large gear in between.  So I'll try stripping the entire setup and go from large gear onward.

Did you connect the output of the windmill directly on the axle of the large wheel ? Or on the side, on one of the four slots available on the large wheel ?

In the first case, that could be your problem. I had the same kind of problem until someone explained that you should put the windmill on one slot of the large wheel, and the devices to power on the 3 other slots (or 2 windmills and 2 devices, or even 2 large wheels linked by their axle, the windmills on one wheel, the devices to power on the other).

My setup is Windmill -> horizontal axle -> gear -> vertical axels -> large gear.  This is split off with two axles going off to two tools.  I've been considering toing multiple windmills connected with large gears.  But I want to understand the basics of how this all works first.

    UPDATE:

Did a complete rebuild from the windmill to the tools.  Still not working.  So I tried bypassing the large gear and connected straight into a quern and that worked.  So there must be something wonky with the large gear.

  4. Is there any sort of graph or chart that shows the power requirements for certain mechanical items?  I have one maxed (sails) out windmill putting out 60 kN of power.  As soon as I connect a large gear -> small gear -> axle -> quern the entire system stops.  I can't quite figure out the requirements for distributing the power of the windmill.

The patch that changes logs to be able to leak sap only affects "log-grown-*" blocks. I'm not sure if player-grown blocks are actually registered this way or not. I think so, but I'm not 100% certain. 🤔

Hmm, OK.  Well time will tell I guess.  I know someone told me that resin doesn't grow "naturally" on player planted pines.  Soooo...🤷‍♂️

Not directly, but what month it is does affect whether or not it will produce anything. When you say pine sap, do you mean liquid resin? It collects a lot more slowly than maple or birch sap.

Yeah, liquid resin.  It's just I put 2 spiles into two pine trees.  Only one is producing resin.  The one that isn't producing is one that I planted.  So I'm just trying to figure out the rules for extracting this liquid resin.

  7. So I'm into April in-game and I only have 1 tree that's spit out 0.4 liters of pine sap.  I'm assuming that temp plays a role in how much it produces?  It's still pretty chilly.

Also, does the spike work on player planted trees?

You can also check moddb. Moreover, it has an api through which it can be checked automatically.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is moddb?  And how do you use the API?

    EDIT:

Nevermind, moddb is the mod website.....duh.  But I'm still curious about the API

    Being exposed to cold weather

This was it.  I'm in the middle of February.  I must not have checked my hunger rate the entire winter season lol.

  10. My hunger is stuck at 131%.  I've taken off all cloths and dumped all my inventory.  My satiety and health are full.  So I have no clue where this is coming from.  How to I check this?
