I agree, more ways to obtain salt in an efficient manners would be nice to have in the base game. Until then, and if you don't mind installing mods, there's https://mods.vintagestory.at/fieldsofsalt that tackles this problem via evaporation ponds.

https://mods.vintagestory.at/carryon (Carrying chests on your back and hands around as extra storage goes a bit too far for me, but you are not forced to do that, it's just really nice to move containers around in your dwellings.) https://mods.vintagestory.at/dryfirefuels https://mods.vintagestory.at/immersivewoodchopping https://mods.vintagestory.at/betterfirepit https://mods.vintagestory.at/immersivewoodsawing https://mods.vintagestory.at/amr (still works, I think there are two "newer" mods around which work similar to this one) https://mods.vintagestory.at/compass (goes well with the spyglass) https://mods.vintagestory.at/simplewinddirection https://mods.vintagestory.at/joyofsailing https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/267 (still works) https://mods.vintagestory.at/chickenfeed, https://mods.vintagestory.at/pigfeed https://mods.vintagestory.at/moredrygrass (still works) https://mods.vintagestory.at/bullseye

A work item cannot be smelted back directly. First you have to break it down into bits with a chisel in the crafting grid.

All options are pretty great. Juice has a pretty good by-product, fruit mash, which can be used as animal fodder or be left to rot to be turned into compost. Creating compost is another popular use for berries.

Additionally to the, by Streetwind, mentioned detection range, beehives also don't detect changes to the environment immediately. It takes the bees a while to discover the planted flowers. See https://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php/Beekeeping#Populating_an_empty_skep.

In my experience, lore is one of the rarer goods to find. Panning for example has a 1 in 285.71 chance to drop a lore book. Next to looting ruins, buying from traders is another way to acquire lore. There are also not just books, but tapestries and scrolls as well. The difficulty makes finding lore content so much sweeter, though.

Hey, welcome to the forum. This function does exist. It should be Shift (cannot confirm the exact button because muscle memory and completely different key bindings somewhat ruined my memory when it comes to keys). Right-mouse click on a stack selects half the stack. Keeping the left-mouse button clicked while hovering over crafting grid segments will fill those segments in equal amounts with the selected block. This mod could also be of interest to you: https://mods.vintagestory.at/knapster

I'd still say that it would be an interesting idea to have more control over the Days per month setting, either being able to fine-tune the amount of days in every single month or in a quarterly fashion which in turn could loosely correlate to the seasons.

How do I put exactly 1 liter of water in a cooking pot?
Brady_The replied to circusseal's topic in Questions
Afaik you are only able to achieve an even 1 litre with the bucket or the bowl in vanilla. However, I recently stumbled across this mod that changes the jug's increments from 0.3L to 0.2L, which would solve your problem. -
It's actually a pretty interesting mode, which allows you to move around completely free while having an inventory or multiple inventories open, plus attaching the inventory/content of a block (be it a chest, barrel, or something else) above the respective block itself. djgfklfdjhfghfgh.mp4

Nice beam utilisation. The oven, table and stairs looks very nice.

For the sake of thoroughness. We both are talking about the Immersive Mouse mode one can find in the game settings, not a mod, right? What doesn't work? The Alt Left key? Alternatively you could check if deleting clientsettings.json in %appdata%/VintageStoryData will resolve your problems. (Note: If you do that, you have to login the game with your account again. You may also want to create a safety copy of clientsettings.json.)
-
Is it possible that you are playing with the Immersive Mouse mode (found in Interface settings) activated? In that case you have to use the Lock/Unlock Mouse Cursor key (Left Alt by default, I believe) to move the mouse cursor.

Welcome to the forum. Yes. https://mods.vintagestory.at/ is the official place to go to satisfy your VS modification needs. While not impossible (especially if you are linked to a 3rd-party site containing exe files), it is highly improbable that you would download anything malicious from the official site. The community is too small and observant to get anything by them. I assume that the official mod site isn't mentioned in this thread, because it was created before the mod site existed.

It would be interesting to know if you are able replicate the problem or if it was a strange one-time-issues. Out of curiosity, are you using any mods that might modify metallurgy?
-
It'd help if you could show us a screenshot of the mould in question, if the issue persists. Currently the only explanation I'd have is a) you encountered a bug, or b) you haven't filled the mould completely.

Because nobody else has answered yet, I'll bite, even though I've never worked with the program. Check out https://github.com/anegostudios/vsmodelcreator. This is probably what you are looking for. You should only need Java 8 to run VS Model Creator.

For the longest time it was standard, to be able to sleep through temporal storms. If you didn't activate this option at world creation, you can still do that with the command "/wc temporalStormSleeping 1". That way you have the "best" of both worlds. Stay awake if you need drops or feel the urge to fight, go to bed if you cannot be bothered.

The seal button is always shown. This can be a bit misleading. If you added barrel-compatible items to the barrel and it doesn't tell you that it "Will turn into x items, after y hours of sealing", you either combined the wrong items or try to process too many with too few units. 1 Raw Hide (Small) requires 2 litres of Limewater 1 Raw Hide (Medium) requires 4 litres of Limewater 1 Raw Hide (Large) requires 6 litres of Limewater 1 Raw Hide (Huge) requires 10 litres of Limewater

While adding presets would be nice in terms of quality of life, you already can copy and paste world settings (with the limitation of perma-death world deletion, I suppose). Go to the Singleplayer page, press the pencil button ("Modify world") and press the copy button in the "Playstyle" row. Then back out, hit "Create New World", press "Customise" and hit Ctrl+V. This pastes the copied world settings. From there you go on as usual. You can also share your world settings with others this way, because they are stored in the clipboard. Simply paste them in a text file or online service such as pastebin.

Animals seek land when swimming, or at least drown.
Brady_The replied to TamTroll's topic in Suggestions
Great suggestion. I am currently playing on an ocean world and I too find more land animals in the water than on land.- 1 reply

You are right, the more accessibility options a game itself offers, the better. Until this particular option is added to the game, you could use StepUp (it still works in 1.19.3), or you could choose the nuclear option and use XSkills (Skill: Survival -> Ability: Steeplechaser). If those do not meet his needs, it would be useful to expand on what function he would exactly need to be able to play more comfortably.

I am playing currently in a Waterworld setting, birds would be a great navigation help.
