  1. As of 1.20.7, mechanics like knapping, clayforming, and forging can be done even in complete darkness. Even if it’s pitch black, all the wireframe voxels remain fully visible, allowing players to work without any light source. For the sake of realism and immersion, I suggest restricting these activities when the light level is too low. Just like how players need light to see and interact with their surroundings, precise tasks like shaping stone or clay should require at least some visibility. If a player attempts to knap, clayform, or forge in darkness, a message like "Insufficient light level to work" could appear, signaling that they need a nearby light source.
  2. The underground experience in Vintage Story does an amazing job of creating a tense, almost horror-like atmosphere. The darkness, the eerie ambient sounds, and the reverb effect all work together to make caverns feel truly unsettling—just as intended. The realism is palpable, and it keeps players on edge. However, one thing breaks this immersion for me: the player’s damage sound. It plays a musical note, similar to Don’t Starve. While this works in a more stylized game, in Vintage Story’s eerie caverns, it feels out of place and even unintentionally funny. Have you also found this juxtaposition unfitting? If so, what are your thoughts on possible alternatives? Personally, I’m not too keen on changing the sound to grunts or gasps of pain. Instead, perhaps impact sounds based on the type of attack—like bites, scratches, slashes, or blunt hits—could be a better fit.
  3. As of 1.20.7, transferring items into crates requires first moving them to the hotbar and then using Shift + Right-Click to transfer the entire stack. This works fine for a few items, but when handling large amounts—like stacks of rocks—it quickly becomes tedious. Players have to repeatedly move stacks from their inventory to the hotbar, disrupting their setup, then shift-click them one by one, then starting over for how many stacks they have. A simple quality-of-life improvement would be allowing players to drag and drop entire stacks directly from the inventory into crates, making bulk storage much more convenient.
