Necro Post but, Simon did it! Hytale is back in development
-
It wasn't until after I watched the trailer, and after I made my post that I went back to read more on the News update to see: LOL I'm tellin you I was excited!!
-
Oops! With my excitement I didn't discern the two Hahahahaha Perhaps a new thread is in order!
-
AHHHH DID YOU GUYS SEE THE TEASER TRAILER???!!! I reminds me (just with the artstyle alone) of games I used to play as a child like Ty The Tasmanian Tiger, Jack and Daxter, and my wife's favorite Sly Cooper. I'm looking forward to it EVEN MORE WOW. @Tyron I know it's only the teaser but wow, can't wait to hear more news from you and the team!!
-
Hahahahaha that's okay too! Seems Hytale will be whatever it's going to be (or not going to be) I have high hopes for Vintage Story and any new mods as long as you are the man behind the wheel. Cheers! Thank you for clearing these points up! It's quite fun to speculate and I'm sure nobody meant any harm with said speculations. I for one am happy to hear relations regarding business were just that; business. ^-^

Yeah! Hahaha I'll have to remember that detail for ongoing development! I was like "Why isn't it updating?"

Afternoon Vintarians! I'm doing a playthrough and I'm trying to come up with what things to tackle and in what order. Of course, the order doesn't really matter, but I'm the kind of guy who likes to write a bulletin of "Need to Do" things and "Steps to take" notices. I've come up with a plan already, but I got curious. How do You progress in your world? Do you hunt for food first or establish shelter. After that do you go for copper or establish a farm? What is your order of operations when it comes to progressing forward in the game?

Oh my god you have no clue! For years my siblings and I enjoyed Little Big Planet 1 - 3! It was the highlight of our childhood gaming lives hahahaha Unfortunately, user-created levels were hard to regulate. We got a lot of Duplicate levels (Levels were able to be copied and modified) so by the end of the games life, there was just a bunch of spam for levels of the exact same content. I think the way levels were organized was very cool, creative and smooth! But, y'know any time a community has power, there will be spammers we all know how the internet can be. The tools available for level creation just got better and better with each iteration of the game. Truly a masterpiece. I was sad to see it go. The best time for it's User-Levels I have to say was LBP2 in my experience.

Oooo like Little Big Planet hahaha (I don't know if anyone here is familiar)

I am not playing with Expanded Foods for this exact reason

https://account.vintagestory.at/ You can redownload the game from here ^-^ It's the same account you used to buy the game. For future reference you can access that area from the Forums by clicking on Client Area at the top. Welcome to the Forums!

Dude tour swinging blindly at anyone who is replying to you. Frankly im not sure anyone made such a broad assertion lol I welcome the idea! Explain to me your idea. How do you think they could implement Adventure Mode as an MMO?

Diversifying drifter drops for fewer empty kills.

In an interview, Tyron actually suggested people can edit the VS Survival Mod to do stuff exactly like this haha! It's incredible that I'm seeing this right after watching that. Super helpful explanation Thorfinn. Ty much! o7 -
Glad you're enjoying the game! Welcome to the Forum! ^-^

Hey guys! Was scrolling on YouTube and came across Big Dude Games' interview with Tyron (posted a few hours ago as of right now) They talk about Vintage Story Adventure and some other questions that might interest the community!

A bunch of players are joining the game following the Hytale announcement

FUNNY ENOUGH, I actually think the Bowtorns are the easiest to deal with! The Shivers are monsters sent from Hell for me With Bowtorns I can hear their screech and then like a second or two later, I hear their arrow fire. It's a good enough indication for me to dodge after getting hit a few times when I first started the game LOL -
I did it. I had my first mini Live and uploaded the Raw unedited video to My Alternate YouTube Channel I hope someone gets some value out of it! Even if it's just to make fun of my struggle hahaha
-
To add to that, VS has been a slow burn! So it could be, in terms of financials, he isn't putting much into it therefore making more than what he's spending. Leaving extra being saved up for, well the adventure mode for example. Or a bigger team. Haha

Hello everyone, I've been reading the thread and just wanted to inject my own opinion on certain matters I could not pass without addressing this You did add the drowning bit. It wasn't in the original post. 'nuff said about that from me lol You do make a great point of certain things needing to be explained more. "Hidden Modifiers" should be made a little clearer. I saw someone recommend an optional tutorial mode. I think that'd be really cool. A place that breaks the fourth wall to teach those hidden mechanics. Of course, at that point if people skip the tutorial, whether they can survive or not is up to their own ability and skill. That's not to say the Game can't improve certain mechanics. I do think there are some rather difficult parts (from what I've read) that just need a bit of rebalancing. Like the temporal storms. While I do agree with your point that it is already pretty obvious that there is a Handbook with the popup on screen, some things like the SHIFT+H Combo while looking at a block is something that could be communicated in game much better. I think it's a super useful tool. Your sarcasm does make your comment a bit harder to digest. The humorous angle you're trying to take is falling flat with many Users thus far. Theirs a few assumptions that are rather unfair, but they are your opinion so that's all I'll say there. I don't think Rudometkin is wrong to defend their point as everyone else is also defending their point. His delivery is another topic entirely. So let's keep it to exactly what you mentioned: "Emotional Appeal to the game to new players that are coming to enjoy it". The game could be better and it is getting better. I love new players (and those advocating for new players) making posts like OP did. It gives us opinions and anecdotes from all across the spectrum. Obviously, Vintage Story appeals to a very specific crowd and will not be for everyone. That's not to say, new players should be shunned if they think the game is too hard and asking for change. I agree that they should also be heard out. It's an assessment I've seen made rather often. Whether it's fair or not I won't comment on. What I will comment on is that an assessment of your character shouldn't be made in threads like this. If anyone has an issue with anyone's character, it should be dealt with privately and come to understand one another. I won't quote Rudometkin's long posts but I do understand him defending himself. His character was blatantly assumed, and he got defensive. Again, this is why these conversations should be had in private. I think they could stand to be a bit more balanced. I've seen arguments from even players that have played the game a long time say they're pretty bad. while digging a 2x1 hole does seem like a strategy one could take, with rebalancing of the temporal storms, more diverse strategies could be taken without removing anything that makes it so scary! Private conversations should be left private. Agreed! But I feel even the Creepers have a deterrent (Water in a bucket, running away as soon as you hear the sssss because they don't blow up right away) while monsters here don't really have any avoidance measures. This is where I can see rebalancing certain things can be useful Apologies for the long post! Just wanted to interject and throw my opinion in the thread Happy Gaming everyone! -
Ah what a shame, but I do respect Tyron's professionalism on the matter! If it was before Riot came into the picture, I see a Tyron & Simon team-up less likely. Although if it was after, I'd feel comfortable assuming his qualm was with the players Riot brought in and the direction they wanted to go in. For most people, it's always easier blaming a corporation but I want to be clear I'm not doing that hahaha just speculating where the disagreement could have originated from. With Tyron's comment about finances not being an issue in development for VS, I could imagine even a little desire to want to be a part of Hytale. That's only if it were to resonate with the reason he joined their team in the first place way back when.
-
Fairly noted. I'm not too knowledgeable on the topic. Did Tyron leave after or before Hypixel Studios was acquired by Riot?
-
Hahaha Imagine he partners with Simon and they acquire Hytale lololol

Hey! Quite the late comment but Welcome! You actually joined much earlier than I did How are you liking the game up to now?
