Have you tried using backup?

"De gustibus non est disputandum", as the ancient Romans said. Personally, I love the visual effects during temporal storms. From my first days playing, I've been building a trap shelter where I can farm loot from drifters in comfort and relative safety with a simple stone spear... and at the same time admire the gears rotating in the sky. In essence, a primitive shelter-trap can be quickly constructed even while traveling, during the time between the first warning and the storm. The simplest shelter is a vertical hole the height of a seraph, topped with a block of earth. It takes half a minute to dig, and it's perfectly safe, just boring.)))) But the settings offer a variety of options to completely disable thunderstorms or tone them down; there's even a "Homo Sapiens" game mode without thunderstorms, temporal instability, or drifters. I don't get it, isn't that enough? There's been an idea floated here about a "Rust" dimension that can be accessed through rifts, just as drifters from there come to us. I find that idea very interesting.))))

I have a big request: could you create a mirror for the mod database? Just like there's a mirror for downloading the game. The official mod database page doesn't load for me, even with a VPN, or it loads so slowly that it's unusable.

As I was running past, I saw a bear fighting a ram. I thought the bear would kill the ram and attack me, but the ram gored it. It's probably wiser to keep three or four rams in a pen, in case of a bear attack. I'm building a double pen for the rams: a fence within a fence. The outer fence keeps the bear out, the inner fence keeps the rams in.

A crusher? One that crushes cinnabar and bauxite? But that could have been automated a long time ago! О_о A funnel at the exit, a chest underneath the funnel. Place the chest to the side of the crusher, and connect it to the lower block of the crusher via an angled chute. Items placed there are crushed and automatically fall into the exit. But the hopper only works when a player is present, so putting 12 stacks of bauxite in the top chest and going into the mine won't work.

There is one nuance here: the workpiece for forging must be red-hot.

Oh, are we in any hurry?)))) I generally use Google Translate. You can't learn every language.

Is it possible to create a mechanism for moving water blocks from one place to another for artificial reservoirs through a flow mechanism? Then small ponds for water wheels will no longer be suitable (a small pond will simply flow down under the wheel, and will be of no use), but the possibility of creating such ponds will still remain. I don't know if this can be done in the game, I'm generating an idea. I think the ability to move a block of water in a bucket is a good idea—after all, we can do that in real life. We can create puddles, pools, and ponds; it's an important part of landscape design. I wouldn't want to lose that because of the "small ponds" problem, like in Create. But I think if the ability to infinitely scoop water with a bucket from a single block of water was replaced by the ability to infinitely scoop water with a bucket from a stream of flowing water created by a waterfall, a river, or an aqueduct, a water pipe, a gutter, аn artesian well ... that would be an excellent option and very realistic. And, purely from a gameplay perspective, it's much, much less inconvenient than having to draw water from a well with a bucket. I played on a Minecraft server with that mod, and it was terrible! Filling 20 barrels with water, and diving into the well for each bucket... and always... ugh! Unless the well is a temporary starting point in the game, it's a really, really bad idea.

Some players leave furious, while others, on the contrary, arrive intrigued. The point of a survival game is to survive without a guarantee, not to kick monsters barefoot on the first night. Dangers you can't handle at this stage of the game, but which won't hinder your progress—that's the right thing, I think. Bowthorns irritate me too: they shoot from afar, out of nowhere, and they run away from me, which is really annoying. They're inconvenient monsters; they don't run straight at my falx so I can kill them, hooligans! Driftoons!! So what if they're the reason I can't play? They won't achieve that. Shield, armor, fence, trap—and you can build your houses again. The only thing I don't understand is why they don't leave during the day or after a storm? The drifters leave, but they don't. It's strange and seems illogical. But I haven't downloaded the new version of the game yet—maybe they've already been shown the right way.

Another series of screenshots from the ship's kitchen. The ship is a collaborative effort among our server's players, and I want to show off my part of the work. 1, 2. Sideboard. Pots and bowls are stored there. 3, 4, 5. Stove. You can cook inside. 6, 7. Kitchen cabinets and sink. You can wash dishes and get water in the sink. The cabinets above are decorative; the round wooden plates were made by another player. The mosaic floor is mine.

Oh, to operate a door on a steam engine, you need steam, coal, and a servant to throw coal into the firebox so you can open it. That's a very, very big luxury.)) It's much simpler to use springs, levers, and counterweights, which don't require energy and were available even in the Copper Age.
-
Oh, I absolutely don't want industrial technology here, especially easy-to-craft ones, especially early in the game! Traps and automatic doors can work not only on redstone; other mechanics can be devised. Maybe even mechanical power and a primitive system of levers and counterweights. But, to be honest, I really want to attach some kind of spring to the front door - even a Jonas coil - just so it would close behind me on its own.))))

A fully functional kitchen cupboard: the doors open, revealing shelves for storage. The pattern on the floor is made with a chisel. You can see the edge of the table - my friend made it with a chisel. A prototype kitchen stove: the frying pan on top is decorative, but the oven door opens, revealing a cooking fire inside. Fox. Just a fox. The stove, water pump, and sink are all chiselled. The sink can be used for washing dishes; the refrigerator between it and the stove is a mini-cellar. It's not just a hammer and chisel. Opening doors can be made with a chisel mod. ...But if you want to see something grandiose that can be made with a chisel, check out the "Cathedral" thread by 7Embre on the forum.

However, redstone allows you to create complex logic circuits, something I miss in Vintage Story. Building dungeons or ancient tombs full of dangerous traps, retractable bridges, and mechanical doors is impossible. I'd really like to... Are these capabilities really inseparable from making survival easier?

I really like the square moon and the square sun. And the cubic clouds. It's stylish. And not banal.

And one more thing. The foundation makes a house more beautiful. If the floor in the house is raised by one block, the doors will be raised by one block, and there will be room for a beautiful porch. And then the lower layer of masonry, the darker one, will make sense
-
A chimney (possibly decorative), small dormers, and flower boxes for the exterior windows. A large porch could be added to the main entrance. A large terrace with a tiled roof, potted plants, lanterns, carved benches, and tea tables could be added to the ground floor.

You can also hollow out a whole block from the inside so that all the walls are 2-3 voxels thick. You can pour water into this block, and it will hold water like a barrel.
-
I have a sink that I can wash bowls in. It needs to be about half a block deep and at least two voxels thick. I made the sink out of three blocks. The first and third blocks are partially hollowed out, and the middle one is hollowed out the entire length. This gives me a working sink (in the middle block) and room for decorations (blocks on the edges).

TimeTheTea, Krougal, thank you. I like it when everything is close by and everything is convenient, and you don’t have to constantly run somewhere in different directions for every little thing.
-
Yes? I didn't expect you to like it so much. Thank you.

Yes, it's a pity that wine spoils after the expiration date, and does not become better, as it really is. Although there is a mod for wine production, it fixes this.

Top floor. Carving workshop (first picture) and bedroom, bedroom not yet finished. Gallery. View of the house from the backyard - a forge, museum and bedroom with a balcony have been added, but the exterior finishing is not yet finished everywhere. In the foreground is a greenhouse and an apple orchard.

One floor above: common room with kitchenette, fabric dyeing workshop (in the process of redesign). The museum is also located on this floor, but it has just been built and is not ready at all). There is a refrigerator (mini-cellar) between the stove and the sink. In the opposite corner are finds from the ruins, a glider, Jonas's parts on shelves, a desk, etc.
