  1. Server owner could just nuke cheater's ass, regular backups and whatnot if it's whitelist Completely honest now, i read through a bit and most of this stuff is out of my knowledge but i'd imagine something like this anticheat you described would only have a viable use on really large scale and popular servers, where moderation might not be sustainable. Also just a no on part 4, It's still supposed to be a mod.
  2. Safe to say they probably won't pick anyone from moddb to be on official dev team in the future after this.
  3. You are right-ish, Tyron did not pay much attention to this while other's on the team "skimmed" it and probably (bad to speculate, I am a type to give a benefit of the doubt) thought it harmless to non-cheaters, and maybe he disclosed it later on the mod page. It did cause harm and he did not disclose it, here we are. I mentioned the lack of mention of false positives which I thought would bring up to mind that people were affected, My bad. It clearly should've been mentioned in "What was the impact?" section.
  4. Tyron's response is satisfactory in my opinion, all of this is happened on the mod side of things so Malitez getting banned from moddb, additionally discord for his blundered communication but him staying on the dev team (for however long they need him) AND them keeping eyes on him seems reasonable (I also do not know how much legally they can do). If they managed to keep the game drama (of massive size) free 10 years and got into one because of a third party behaviour, I think people's reaction to completely abandoning the support is ridiculous. On the topic of false positives, yes, they should've mentioned it in the Tyron's response that such instances happened. What can be blamed is the mismanagement of this shmuck but Tyron did take the blame so they know what NOT to do incase (and hopefully not) something bad happens again. This is messy to say the least.
  5. My exact feelings about this whole shmuck, you couldn't encapsulate it better. There definitively need to be more repercussions other than pulling some releases of configlib though.
  6. Holy hell all of them look so good wtf. Also, the grass/reed concept is a really good thought for the early game. I really wanna see some scrap metal improvised armor just like the tools you already can craft, nice-niche reward for cave diving in early game. I know most replies care about historical aspect but I think some eldritch looking armor sets would give some character to the core lore of VS, subtle lore like people mimicing the likeness of the rust creatures with armor so maybe they won't attack them. (I am in no way saying I want camoflauge in the game lol)
  7. So the update added raccoon and fox hides, but is there a possibility for a recipe that converts (for concept, using a knife in the crafting grid) them into small hides? Early game inventory management is rough (which I know is the point, duh), two more animals having a distinct hide type and each take up 1 slot of inventory, while having 2 new hat recipes, clogs up already small space, but they are technically a small hide. I think it's a little annoying having to throw them away just because they're not the same type of item and my inventory is packed with other goodies. If this doesn't happen I get it 'cause soaked fox and raccoon hides lose their purpose altogether, so yeah. ¯\(ツ)/¯
  8. >make raccoons fight back >someone gets angry lmfao
  9. Noone can understand my screams when rc7 released with my stupid refresh spam this week. With that said, HELL YEAH
  10. All this because of some curved lines of gravel of different variety on the map lmao
