  1. I don't know the specifics of how the game handles loading mods internally, but I do know that you can't 100% rely on it not to load disabled mobs. I was recently bit by this issue when I upgraded a mod and disabled the older version. I received mod-related errors when the game started, complaining about not being able to locate a certain class. Those errors went away when I deleted the older version from the mods folder, so the game interacts with all mods, disabled or otherwise, when it loads. One of the more well-known mod authors recommends always removing a mod rather than disabling it for this very reason.
  2. Disabled mods are listed in the serverconfig.json and clientsettings.json files in VintagestoryData, down near the bottom of both files in a section labeled "disabledMods" or "DisabledMods," depending on the file. I don't think a list of enabled mods is kept anywhere. The game seems to just load every mod by default except those on the disabled list. It might be cumbersome to swap out those files, as they contain a lot of other information besides just the mods.
  3. Distro: Fedora 42 Kernel: 6.16.7-200 .NET: dotnet-runtime-8.0 Vintage Story Version: 1.21.4 Installation method: install.sh The install went without a hitch. The game can be started from the menu entry.
  4. I don't know the reason that it's delayed, but there's been a bug report filed on it, and one of the devs has tagged it: Flatpak delayed I got tired of waiting and installed the new version manually last night.
  5. In looking at the thread further, I see that a couple of people solved the problem by adding an entry to their user $PATH. Look there, and try one of their suggestions.
  6. Hmm. There's a thread on the forums about Linux configurations: https://www.vintagestory.at/forums/topic/520-linux-distrosconfigurations-under-which-vs-is-known-to-run/?page=4 One post on that page from another Debian user says: So you're not alone. I'm not sure what to tell you other than file a bug report.
  7. It does seem to be installed. Running sysctl would require superuser access. Are you running the install script with sudo? If not, then it would fail because your regular user doesn't have the necessary privileges.
  8. You're very welcome. Sysctl modifies kernel parameters, and looking at the instructions, it seems install.sh is probably trying to modify network privileges so that one-click install for mods works. Sysctl apparently isn't installed by default for your version of Debian. I'm a Fedora user, and I've never tried to install the game directly, so I'm only guessing.
  9. If you're using Flathub, the flatpak version there always lags behind by a few days after a release. I'm sure it will be updated in a day or two. Give them time, as they've been very busy fixing bugs. 1.21.2 required quick fixes, and 1.21.3 only existed for a few hours, so those versions never made it to Flathub. 1.21.4 should show up soon. According to the wiki, you can install flatpak versions directly from Anego. I've not done so myself, but that version is reportedly updated much quicker than Flathub.
  10. Fedora user here. The flatpack version works without a problem for me. You don't need to install .NET7 or anything else. The flatpak has everything it requires to run, and I've had no problems with it. You might give that a try.
