Any ideas how my goat managed to escape his holding pen? I've had a wild male penned up for several months in-game while I let his horns grow. He's the father of all my domestics and I want to be able to put his full-length horns with my other trophies. I came outside after a temporal storm and found that somehow he escaped his personal pen (highlighted in red) and got back into the main pen. Primarily I want to know how to stop him from breaking out again, but also now I'm concerned that any of my other animals might spontaneously escape their pens, which would be quite the hassle. While I have your attention(s), any idea how long it takes for a goat's horns to get to full length?

First it was granite, then peridotite, and then andesite at the bottom. I'd do one more node search and then stop digging once I hit andesite, since (unless I misread) the handbook says hematite can't spawn in andesite.
-
I figured as much, but I needed to hear it from somebody else to be sure
-
All of the yellows read at Decent, but anywhere else where I've gotten a hematite reading is Very Poor to Poor, and a miniscule amount
-
I've gone through 1 copper pickaxe and 2.5 bronze pickaxes searching for hematite in this area. I've been laddering down, doing a node search every ~7 blocks, and have not seen a single read out of hematite whatsoever. I'm fully vanilla settings so the node search has a 6 block radius as far as I'm aware, and all these spots I'm laddering down have a readout above 3% for hematite. I know 3-4% isn't huge, but this is the only area I've found any hematite thus far. Am I just wasting my time searching in this area? I've already had to call off the search once to get more ore for tools because I've found no ore at all around here.

I've been searching for my first vein of Hematite, and randomly dug down next to this. I've never found any ruins aside from some on the surface, and I haven't found any lore drops at all. If I read the journal for entry 18/18, am I going to get mad spoilers? Should I wait to find other journal entries, or is "tapestry lore" different/separate from the books I've heard you can find? I generally like to avoid spoilers for games as much as possible, but I don't know how deep the lore in vs actually goes so some input would be much appreciated.

Had to look through my screenshots but here's one from three days ago, with my coronet showing through my helmet
-
While playing today I noticed that I couldn't see my straw hat through my helmet anymore, and when I tried putting my coronet on I couldn't see it anymore either. Was this an intended change I missed in the patch notes? I'm certain before I could see my helmet and my hat at the same time, and really enjoyed having an armoured crown during the warmer months. I'm playing 100% vanilla, save started in 1.20, all settings are default from then.

Turns out I had misread the ratio of dye to daub in the handbook I was putting in way too little daub for the amount of dye I had barreled. Thanks for the responses, team!

Fully vanilla, fresh world started a day or two ago with a few settings tweaked for an easier time (a secondary save for when I'm away from my main computer)

Hello all, I'm new to Vintage Story and new to posting on forums, so bear with me. I'm just having trouble dying daub in a barrel. I've filled a barrel with pink dye but no matter what kind of daub I put in, it tells me I'll just get the same colour of daub back. I initially made a batch of brown daub before realizing it couldn't be dyed, and after realizing my mistake I went looking for other sands and I've since tried 4 other colours of daub that the handbook definitely says can by dyed pink in a barrel, but I'm unable to even seal the barrel of pink dye with the daub in it. I even tried using less daub in a barrel with the exact amount of pink dye the handbook calls for, but nothing changes. I've tried searching online in case there is some sort of bug or quirk with dying daub, but I haven't had any luck. Thanks in advance! ~KK
