just copy the files from servers' mod folder to general mods folder.
the only problem I see is the server side vs client side mods. especially if the mod requires both server and client sides to have it - if the files of the mod are separate for client and server sides.
so in some case server side only mods will not be exposed to clients connecting to the server. thus you will not get this mod' files to the client.

As far as I remember - it must be either 2/4/6/8.
my personal preference is 6.
Try to set to 0, restart, then set to 6, restart.
And then re-check.
PS
6 works well with the mining distance - 5 blocks away from you.

It is probably the settings that hide the full C screen from you. Or the screen size.
Try to make a backup copy of your clientsettings.json configuration file, delete it, and let the game re-create it from scratch.
In particular - the "dialogPositions" section of the file might be damaged.
Of course - all other customizations will be deleted as well - such as key bindings and video optimizations. Need to re-create them.
The file is located in c:\users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\VintagestoryData\
If this doesn't help - try to disable full screen setting and try out the windowed mode. The game may re-arrange the windows so that every window is seen.

As for headless quern - what speed multiplier you have? Mine is *5.5 and works fine. Didn't try it on *30 as it looks like overkill.
Archimedes screw - agree with @Ivan Stamenov, put a slab on top.
My setup looks like below - I do use T shaped chutes. This makes the milling machine to be 6 blocks high which is compact enough to access it from the floor both for grains chest and the wheat chest (at floor level), and thus not requiring any Archimedes screw.

/worldConfig playerlives [-1 .. 99]
Set the amount of lives a player has before he can no longer respawn. -1 means infinite. (default: infinite) You can add a life for yourself if you feel proud enough 😁🙃
You need to restart the world for this command take effect.
