About the last point, i know, i thought about that, but i still feel like it still ads to the game, even tough you have the minimap, but I'd argue it's actually a bit better, firstly, as I don't think you'd want to get lost at sea and never make it back home, loosing months of progress just like that, and secondly, it still ads a layer of realism and difficulty, firstly, because it can simply make travel time longer, soo, still an incentive to try and avoid them, secondly, you could also make it that the boat can loose stuff, or if we want to go even more extreme, that the boat can destroy and such and you'd need to mentain it from time to time.. Altough the last one is just a stretch, And about the wind overhaul, firstly, i think that's still something VS needs already, and secondly, it could just be wind mechanics affecting only boats specifically, soo, no need to overhaul everything else wind related -

Well, i totally get your point, and i agree, and now, idk if you were replying to my post or anything, soo , I'll just assume you were. Firstly, i dont't hink i went of course vintage story's goal, no one can ever go to a demo of a game and say " wait, no, let's stop updating it, if people want something more, let them go away and make their own game " my point being, i was mainly just trying to point out the things that vintage story has yet to do to become more fledged out = more players, not becoming a sanitized version like Minecraft, or anything in between , but im talking about basic things as specific visuals, im talking about game mechanics, about content, and i understand why for example the mobs suggestion is pushing the limits of the genre of vintage story, but i also feel like i didn't really change the experience for those who enjoy it.. firstly, you can allways just, let people customize, that has allways been a good way to keep a game flexible enough for more unique people with unique playstyles, that's a no brainer, and vs already does a lot of that already, it gives you homo sapiens world gen to get rid of lore and mobs, but what if someone wanted something in between they wanted lore and wanted mobs, but not in the overworld , and you could say, well, there's mods for that, but no matter how smooth vs mods system already is, it will allways still be something that will pile up, we all know those worlds with hundreds of mini mods, for this specific thing, for that specific thing, the more vanilla content can be, the better optimized it can be.. the last we NEED to rely on mods, the better big server will be, the easier will it be to use the Vanilla Tag for your server.. All im asking, is for options, customizability

Vallendorf Civilsations IS BACK !! And we have soo much to do ! -- About the Server -- - Members Count : 90+ - Server world age : Completely New - Modded level : lightly modded QoL improovements. - Server Focus : Civilisations, Dyplomacy, Organic Growth, Survival. - World Gen : Natural, big oceans and sea navigability, Rivers Mod, Better world gen Mod -- Server Policies -- - No Claim ( or limited claiming ) - for more immersive gameplay. - Little to No Server laws - settlements make their own laws. - No One currency - settlements decide what's valuable for them. - No Server Events - settlements can make their own events. -- Main Game Mechanics -- - Found a new kingdom - Go to war - Focus on navigation - Make alliances - Discover new Lands - Write your Story -- The History -- This is basically the 3rd iteration of this server, every time becoming bigger, more polished out, and a bigger, more serious comunity, It started off still pretty, big, reaching about 70-100 members, and it had a good run, but it still was more of just a friend's server, then, came the second iteration, this is when i joined, and it became more official, it became bigger, reaching member counts of 100-130 members, and it already was going pretty well and had a solid player count, but it was also trouought the last summer, so, when summer ended, most of the players had to go afk, including the fact we were resting the world, as the world gen was pretty bad. This time, were hoping for 3rd time's the charm, and that there won't be a need for a 4th iteration any time soon, we already have a good member count left from last time,,we already have a lot of the foundation set, now it's time to clear out the ruins and build u top of the castle foundations. We hope to be able to complete against the big servers out there, and one day become one of the main servers for Vintage Story. ( This post is periodically updated ) https://discord.gg/Fmmerd25P3

More Realistic Sea and Content ( not just the typical stuff )
SCHPETZE posted a topic in Suggestions
I might sureley not be the first to say something among this lines, but I want to add something as I feel it's not something obvious at first glance, but which im sure a lot of people will apreciate, To start with the basics, as I bet many others have said before, more content, from more marine animals, to more boats, more customization, etc.. But now, my own suggestion, is realistic navigation, now ofc, there will allways be a need to make sure we still keep the gameplay fun, but I feel like it's still too easy for vintage story style of game, firstly, storms and strong winds and big waves and such, to be able to deroute the ship. Secondky, for the sail to need actual wind to work, ( but i was thinking more of, not being as harsh as in real life, where if you didn't have good win direction, you were stuck ) but rather, be faster when wind right behind you, and be slower when wind in front of you, ( to simulate the zig zag sailors had to take when fighting the wind ) and to also add the possibility to row in any boat, for an extra boost of speed when wind isn't that forgiving.. Thirdly, overall more realistic boats and such, uk, be more imersive and such Fourthly, the possibility to stand on the boat inside it, not to be forced to either sit, of fall off, for boats to be actual walls with actuall hit boxes, especially on larger boats, this can have infinite uses, from being able to shoot with arrows while hiding behind the wall, or having little parties while the ship is sailing, and thus also being to place chests and whatnot on the ground the same as on normal ground, in any angle, in any location.. stacked or not.. And lastly, but most important one, more boats, from small kayaks to large pirate ships, it will add such a HUUUGE layer to the game, i bet im not the only one exited for this, and again, i know some if not most of this was already said, but I feel like i want to make sure that the details are also out there now.. -

I honestly never thought about this, but that you mention it, puts light on the reason I've had slight inconveniences with vintage story, and I agree with you, a good game, is a game where you don't feel discomfort while making a choice, I mean, if you remove mobs from the game world, it feels constantly punishing, and you can also never get back to it when you feel like it... There should be a sweet spot where the game isn't simply creative, but also isn't annoyingly forcing you to deal with annoying mobs, and for example I LOVE what they did with having that in caves and in the deep, mobs spawn more, and they are stronger, this is a consequence, but me just minding my business and waking up with a ramdom bowtie some how hitting me from blocks away and killing me , and seting me back to spawn, that's just annoying... I didn't do anything to ask for it, and yet, it came, in the case of wild animals this is okey, because I know, if in in a field with berry bushes, the chances a bear is here is high, I better stay weary.... But in sense of mobs, there's nothing you can do to go to them or Avoid them , rifts spawn in your house, rift activity just happens, in case of winter, is not annoying, because is my fault if I didn't prepare in time, knowing it will approach soon... But what can I do if it just happens a temporal storm appears out of nowhere ? ... I haven't read his suggestions yet, but im willing to, and I believe he has a very good point, which would make the game MUCH more accessible to sooo many players which don't want to deal with scary movs if they don't want to
