  1. That really depends on class and the length of the month. I have not played vanilla in a long time, but 36 crocks of meals will last me the whole winter, and I still have plenty left over. I also play with 30 day months on my server. Now take that with a grain of salt because the server is always running, but when I am seriously playing during the winter, if I have a full cabinet of crocks, I never run out of food. Veggies and grain you can keep in storage vessels, no problem. Make sure your cellar is getting the best bonuses possible. If your veggies are getting ready to spoil, you can always char them, and it will reset the fresh timer. Yeah, you can't cook with charred veggies, but you can still eat them for vegetable saturation. If you have the ability, waxed cheese is a great way to store dairy saturation long term. Otherwise, with spare grain, you can just keep your animals fed and breeding through the winter so you can drink fresh milk. Vanilla I think you can still dehydrate fruit, and it will last a long while. If you have the ability to gather apples or pears, they last much longer. You can also dehydrate those. Wine is also a possible choice if you want to store fruit saturation long term. This depends on how many animals you have and also how long your months are. If you are going to be continuously feeding them through the winter and you have a lot of animals, you will probably need a few storage vessels full of grain. You can also use the smashed fruit from the fruit press as a stopgap animal feed to save a little grain, but it rots fast. If I had to put a safe number, I would say 2 or 3 stacks of grain per goat for the winter. Can probably get away with the same amount for chickens also. It uses them up.
  2. Traders on my server remain broken, and we are on 1.22.5. I have not pinned down the root cause just yet. It has something to do with trader permissions, though. Old traders generated in 1.20.12 work just fine, but anyone who is in survival mode can't trade with traders generated in 1.22.5.
  3. Hey all, I just wanted to provide a quick update about the server and some of the things that have happened over the last month since we went public again! We have seen our player base expand and peak concurrent players jump from daily averages of 1-2 all the way to 5-10 depending on the day and time since our new player base is scattered all over. Members of the community have built and opened two different taverns! We have the Running Ram operated by Ruin and Honeybee operated by JTheDragonKing. Below I will attach some screenshots of the server. We encourage you to come check out our Discord and get whitelisted to get involved in our growing community! Discord: https://discord.gg/yR6tMnpuwQ
  4. I just wanted to inform everyone that we have updated the server from 1.20.12 to 1.22.3 within the last week. We are still an active community and always looking for more members to come and join us. It is also the beginning of March as of this comment so spring and summer are right around the corner, perfect for a new adventurer in our lands!
  5. Early game, some flint spears to throw and water are my biggest allies against bears. Get them in the water and start throwing spears. Just don't let them get close.
  6. Nova Aurora - A Vintage Story Community Nova Aurora is a community where your choices matter. Settlements rise into nations, alliances forged and broken, and wars fought. You can take part in factions and lead one yourself if you choose or you can be a hermit living on the fringes of civilization. The choice is yours. We are trying to build a living world that is built totally by its players. We have no pre-established lore or factions. Everything is 100% made by players apart of our community. Features: Whitelist: To ensure our community members know the rules and we don't have to deal with people who don't care about the rules. No Wipes: We have not wiped the server and do not plan to unless it is absolutely necessary. Groups, Settlements, and Nations: We have three tiers of player organization. Groups for those who want to operate businesses, guilds, or other non-governmental organizations, settlements for leaders who want to organize people and deal with diplomacy, and nations for kings of multiple settlements under one banner. Settlement Progression: When forming a settlement you start off as a modest Hamlet and can grow it all the way up to a bustling Capital with our structured progression system. Once you get a Capital you can start trying to form a nation if you please or remain a humble city state. Structured Warfare: We do have a set of rules for organized large scale battles and sieges. This is to ensure they do not drag on forever and there is a clear winner. These are optional and two groups at war with each other could possibly never do these and just Skirmish with each other instead, that choice is up the the faction leaders. Player Freedom: While we encourage RP on the server it is by no means mandatory just be yourself. Feel free to homestead alone or be apart of a group. And of course your more than welcome to form your own groups. Server Rule Highlights: PVP and theft are allowed, but actions have social consequences. No blocking access to story locations. Banter and rivalries are fine, keep it in game. Robust rules for abandoned structures to ensure that resources and buildings stay in the overall server ecosystem since we do not wipe. 7. No, it won't spawn in Andesite, but it will spawn in the two layers above... You may just have to start strip mining. It should be there just depends on what Y level it exactly spawned in. If you have the resources, I would honestly just start strip mining some shafts every 10 or so blocks on the Y axis, go for about 30 blocks each direction, and see what hits you get (If any) and do that all the way to just above the Andesite.
  8. Make sure you are starting to look at the appropriate depth at which hematite will start to spawn, and also the appropriate rock types. From the looks of your screenshot, the surface rock is granite, what is it like around Y90? Also, are you hitting any other rocks heading down to the mantle? If it's all just granite or peridot, then its just a matter of time till you find it. I've actually found most of my Iron in decent readings only; very rarely do I find anything higher than decent. https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Ore_Deposits Dropped this for you if you want to check out the wiki. Lots of useful information to help you in your Splunking.
  9. From my very limited lore knowledge I don’t think we are the bad guys. Although that could change. I could see something like I Am Legend being the case.
  10. In late summer I’ve killed some boars that have produced 2 fat per. Same with the larger game in late summer when they are fattest.
  11. Brass so far I’ve found is only used for ingots. And you use the ingots for plates. Then use the plates for torch holders, that way your torches you place down never go out. Or if you ever get glass production you can use the brass for lanterns.
  12. I say if they add balloons we also need airships. I miss the Minecraft mod that made it possible to build airships. Was really fun to just fly around, I imagine that Balloons would be a good middle game vehicle while airships would be late game. Coal of course being a fuel source.
  13. Thank you! I might have to do some research and calculate some things. I only play with the default 9 days per month. I had looked on the wiki and it had no mention of solstices being in the game, but since we have latitude it should be possible to build a functional structure.
  14. I was just wondering if this game had winter and summer solstices in game, was thinking of attempting to build structures like the ancients that used these two days like stone henge.
