New (ish) player here, whats going on with the combat system?
RogueVali replied to Zekeo42's topic in Discussion
Honestly, just keep temporal gears on infinite. Why do beds not serve as respawn, like literally any game ever, is beyond me. -
Personally I just got apiaries mod.. Bees biting is a pain, but figured fair trade off for actual renewable honey. That and recipes are fun and reasonable.

Hah. So few things already. I dunno what's with the metal armor, but indeed it's really barely worth it. Fixing it is also joke worthy. Leather I found acceptable, cause at least in 1.21.6 leather's fairly manageable to acquire. Other than that, armor impairs ur speed, increases ur hunger rates. U mostly meant to wear a set for expeditions, story missions, somewhere where u plan to experience a lot of short, but condensed combat. Next thing, yeah. Temporal storms? Useless. There's nothing to gain from fighting endless hordes of ranged enemies. Unless u wanna farm some enemy drops, but if u got enough materials to make a metal set, u probably don't need those bone arrows or flax fibers. Gears are sweet, including temporals, but there's better ways of getting both. Namely underground expeditions. So yeah, I guess few tips I got, would be: Armor? Chills on that armor stand, unless you really need it. Like before-mentioned underground mining expeditions. For more day to day wear, make urself either a wooden one, or straight up improvised set. Cause legit, even improvised set can save u a hit or two. Other than that, yeah, horsetail and cattails make healing salve. Keep that in mind. As for temporal storms? Spooky. Interesting. U seen one, u seen them all. Wait em out in ur house or other safe space. Avoid unnecessary combat and damage. Other than that, what lady said, Shield's great. 90% damage reduction during active block is what should really help. Much cheaper than full armour set too. -
What would your suggestions be for better temporal immersion?

@Thorfinn What you seem to forget is that they're also making a product. We, as clients, have every right to express our concerns and opinions about it. We are fkn customers. Well not you I guess, you're more of a blind follower, but yeah. Concerns are to be shared, considered, and acted upon. One way or the other. They might address it, act on it, or disregard it, if they think their vision is the right one. But our bastard right is to be able to share our opinions and concerns. Heh. If it wasn't for the considerable backlash, they'd prolly roll with straight up insane spear nerf in its full form. Sure they're still far from perfect, but it's thanks to feedback they weren't utterly trashed. -
As much as I hate it... I also really love the idea of an aqueduct.... Duality of man.

Water behaving like "other games" lava is already bull enough. Fact, that all you need is a bucket to bypass it, means it's bull for the sake of bull and nothing else. Really hope rapid water is just water we can create if we give it enough volume or elevation. Possibly both. If not, then hope it can be yoinked via a ever powerful, physics defying bucket. U know, like charcoal pit or a cellar. make a big enough pond at the top, poke a hole for a waterfall, create a big enough drop, river bed, and if u meet the requirements, boom, rapid?

Huh. Frankly I hope they'll introduce system the Lady talked about once. Cutting a little branch from a bush and ye growing a sapling out of that. I do love collecting, so ye. Cold weather berries sound like a cool addition to rather limited winter options. Heard they added new labels to crock pots too. Think all jams will get their own?

Huh what if they were tho. That'd be cool. If they offered similar threat as well, instead of being just an annoying time sink that throws a wrench into anything you were doing, then huh. Cause feel that's the problem. Visually they're cool, but unless you want to fight a bunch of bastard enemies, 3 out of 4 being ranged, then what's the point of them. They're interesting and unnerving the first time, but then they're just annoying. Probably caused by their length. Emissions are short and sweet. Get tf inside, or fry. You're in the middle of nowhere? WELL NICE KNOWING U. U know? Emissions are always stressful, and if they catch u in a safe area, then they're blissfully short. Visually they're also amazing. -
Hah we'll see how they'll handle berry bush acquisition. That and climates, dunno u'll be able to haul all the berries from all over the world otherwise.

Grapes and raisins when. Hah.

From what I've gathered, windmill connected directly to a big wheel, can easily power all 3 machines at once, granted altitude and wind speed are on ur side, of course. Still dunno how torque works, but ye. Windmill connected to a smol gear, powering an axle connected to big gear just won't move at all period.

Funny how it only matters when it's ur buddy-o getting talked back to. Not him being a pos.

Paying in full for theirs. *tips hat*

Pretty much. It's very orange, hence easy to spot. Just pick a direction and go. U'll find it. This too, ye. Story requires you to travel for thousands of blocks. 7k+ in our case. Treking to lazaret and archive took us through many, many biomes, a lot of which featured bauxite. So ye, just progressing is sufficient enough indeed. (We even found lime city, biome made entirely of limestone. :D)
