  1. I actually went through your post amidst my own fustration which was helpful. @Professor Dragon reply (SPOILERS) was one of the only places i could find a coherent list of the lore and the required books for a complete collection .
  2. Oh yeah I think your right actually. And yeah when the stakes are as high as they are its rough losing time to game jank like that. The entire game design around the elk (amoung other things) is kinda questionable. Like the game does nothing to tell you that you even need a medalion right? So without getting the info from outside the game it basicly does just entierly disrespect the player.
  3. Hey dude, That sucks and I agree. Ive also had a few experiences like this, that have made me extreamly fustrated as I lost expensive gear or items (My first time mining iron, a competly silent deep drifter walked up behind me and 1 tapped me with no ques whatsoever. lost my whole kit and an inventory of iron ore). My suggestion would be to just spawn yoursef some more gears. Hit / and type "gm 2". This will make you enter creative mode. Open your inventory and give yourself 100 gears. To exit creative mode type "gm 1".

    Lore UX.

Hi guys, Ive been playing Vintage Story for a couple months and ive just cleared the resonance archive on my first blind vanilla playthrough 150h or so in. I just wanted to make some suggestions for the UX for the lore books. Make mousing over a lore book show the books info: " 'The spy and the sparrow', book 2 of 10 (read), (6/10 total read)". Make the (J) journal show how many of a given story you have already read eg "6/10 books read", same as the initial notification when you read an unread book. Make the journal reflect the actual format of the books instead of just showing "1/17 pages" when there are 10 books, all with 1 to 3 pages. This one is personal taste, but I think making each book of a series the same color, instead of all random would make more sense. The current lore UX is extreamly tedious in regards to trying to collect all the books and organise them (I have to open every book just to know what it even is), and honestly made me not care to collect or read the lore, which sucks because the lore seems awesome. Thanks for reading (post 1/1 read).
