I mean, this game is incredible, I already played 18h. I'm new one, so this is only start. Thanks VS team for creating this diamond, and wish you a lot off success in 2025!!!

Bought it to give the devs even more money because they 100% deserve it. Sheer amount of things that get added is absolutely bonkers sometimes.

What I love about Vintage Story.

First it´s indie. And before you say, yeah but looks like another boring Minecraft clone. It´s not!
Sure you can place blocks like in Minecraft and you have a crafting system, but this game goes a little further. The crafting system feels more “realistic” and resources feel more valuable. Of course it has still some issues in this phase of development, like spawning under water. But I´m sure they are going to fix things like that. The world feels very natural and alive with all those animals and swinging leaves. When you want a knife you even have to chisel your blade, which is pretty neat. And you cannot carry really much before having a basket or later a backpack. All together it feels very alive and natural. I like that. (Especially the textures)

What are cool features I noticed so far?

Weather effects like fog, wind and of course rain.
It´s more challenging than Minecraft.
Light is far more important, because the night gets really dark.
You need to preserve food.
You can find ruins and NPC´s with little houses. (you cannot grief them, which I find cool)
Many world options, like temperature resistance or even building height. (building height has an effect on chunk loading)

What I don´t like at the moment:

the clouds look still a bit odd.
it´s sometimes hard to understand how things work. (but that could be me)

Conclusion: If you liked Minecraft but felt like it could be more realistic or just better, with more features, without installing endless mods. You need try Vintage Story!

Ich habe das Spiel von meinem Mann geschenkt bekommen und kann es daher leider nicht direkt bewerten. Ich bin kein typischer Gamer und wenn ich etwas spiele, was meist Aufbau-Simulationsspiele sind, dann vielleicht mal am Wochenende. Bei Vintage Story ist das komplett anders. Ich habe bestimmt schon Hunderte Stunden in diesem Spiel verbracht und es wird einfach nicht langweilig. Es gibt unheimlich viel zu tun und wenn man in einer kleinen Gruppe auf einem Server spielt, kann jeder die Aufgaben übernehmen, die ihm am meisten Spaß machen. Ich kann es nur jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der diese Art Spiele mag. Neben einem tollen Spiel gibt es auch eine tolle und kreative Community. Wenn man nicht alleine spielen möchte, gibt es einige mit einem Server im VS-Discord, die sich über weitere Spieler freuen würden. Der Preis für das Spiel ist sehr günstig, weshalb ich zusätzlich das Supporter Addon gekauft habe.

Hier noch ein paar Bilder von unserem Server, damit man sieht, was mit einem Meißel alles möglich ist. In der Community gibt es Spieler, die noch viel erstaunlichere Sachen gebaut haben. Dafür solltet ihr unbedingt mal einen Blick in den Kanal Screenshots im offiziellen VS-Discord werfen.

Great way to support Developers 

One of two times I've ever bought paid extra for something but Anego deserves it and the gold nametag is a nice perk. Excellent game that has delivered years of great updates and a really fun game overall. Couldn't recommend Vintage Story enough.

I was unfortunately hacked and lost access to my account.  I reached out to the devs and thanks to their help, they returned my account.  I didn't realize this addon prior to this event, but after getting my account back I started to explore the site more to find 2-factor authentication.  It eventually led me to this addon and I couldn't be more happier than to support the devs and the game.  I will also continue to gift this game to my friends as my community grows to keep supporting.

I got it to stand out a bit ofc, but supporting the devs is also important! Definitely worth it, for both reasons.
