Repaired Ruined Weapons

Currently, the two weapons that the player can craft are the Falx and the spear.

But there are also special "ruined weapons" that can be found in the Archives.

These weapons have unique appearances, but are in a state of severe disrepair, looking broken and have only around 15 durability.

I suggest the idea that by crafting a ruined weapon with parchment, much like how the glider schematic is duplicated, the player is able to create a schematic for that type of weapon, which when used allows for them to forge their own versions. (Attached is an idea of the crafting recipe using a ruined sabre.)

This would be a creative way to incentivise keeping an eye out for these ruined weapons, and a way to bring them back to life, which is fun for fashion or roleplay, as well as potential future combat overhaul purposes if such an overhaul is ever implemented.

If there was to be a full combat overhaul, I also had the idea of Falxs being replaced by basic swords as a weapon that the player can craft without any schematics. Swords do less damage against drifters and more damage against living creatures, and Falxs do bonus to drifters but less to living creatures. The Falx schematic could be found in underground ruins or in the Archives, acting as an upgrade to the sword, but with the tradeoff of being less effective on non-drifter creatures.

These were just some random ideas I had, and I thought it could be fun to post them to the suggestions topic of the forums. :)

Stay safe out there, Seraphs!

Last night I found a small ruin and within it was a ruined boar spear (8.5 damage when thrown!), ruined steel scale armor (60 durability left on it), a ruined weapon (generic military fork), and a ruined double-bladed axe (hits for a stupid amount of damage and will probably break after a few whacks). I am all for repairing a ruined weapon or armor and return it to full or partial use! Why not require the player to heat the proper ingot to white hot and then combine the two items using a logical amount of hammer and anvil durability?

There were also the usual things like a metal barrel, ruined globe, and a few other metal bits to find. I think it would also be a good mechanic to add if these items could be chiseled down into their respective blooms and recycled. Again, the player must use the correct chisel (copper, bronze, iron, or steel) and the act would use up appropriate durability.

This would add functionality, not just aesthetics, to found scrap items.

At least that scale armors can be repaired, There can be found a full set of steel scale armor in the Archives and I have repaired it into fully functioning state.

Still, repairing also ruined weapons can be nice.

I'm willing to bet the devs intent is to incorporate ability to repair ruined weapons.  The roadmap indicates a better combat system is desired and I am assuming different weapons with different advantages/disadvantages are part of their vision for combat.  If that is the case, I imagine, one of the roadblocks to repairing ruined weapons is that, but what will the characteristics of the repaired weapon be (range, damage, durability and other advantages/disadvantages).

For anyone curious, I've played around with the Lore Weapons mod which adds repaired versions of all of the ruined weapons, but they all have the same stats as their respective tier falxes. It's super cool to see but I definitely think if a combat overhaul is in order then it would be much better if each type had it's ups and downs.
