Chickon_20 Posted February 18, 2024 Report Posted February 18, 2024 I want to help with getting tools out of the crafting grid. My solution: Have either a stick or the tool head on the of hand and the other on the main hand and hold down right click for a set amount of time (to wedge the tool head on the handle). 1
lil Posted February 18, 2024 Report Posted February 18, 2024 Making it ground based crafting could work as well, ctrl+rclick place the head on the ground, rclick with a stick on that to wedge it in as a handle, and would open the off hand for possible extra building materials/tools for later additions or changes.
Streetwind Posted February 18, 2024 Report Posted February 18, 2024 Problem is, you can't just make a dedicated crafting mechanic for every small subset of items you want to move out of the crafting grid. Nobody will be able to memorize them all. Obviously a number of recipes can be moved to crafting stations, such as a loom for thread and cloth, and so on. But for the remainder, the ideal replacement system should be as near-universally applicable as possible. And your suggestion sadly doesn't work for recipes with more than two ingredients. There are mods currently out there that add the requirement of rope or twine to bind a toolhead and shaft together. They would be unable to work with your system.

Maelstrom Posted February 22, 2024 Report Posted February 22, 2024 For things that have more than 3 items (which are more numerous than the ones with only two or three), which order to you craft them in? And what happens if the order is mixed up?
