Hello,
I have two suggestions to make:

  1. The damage sound effect is quite disturbing, especially when you're constantly taking damage while hungry—it becomes even more annoying. A deeper and shorter sound effect would be much better. One of my viewers in my YouTube series also mentioned the same issue.

  2. When shaping stone or clay, there's a delay between breaking one "pixel" and being able to break the next one. Removing this delay would provide a smoother experience. For example, when trying to break three pixels in succession with a continuous mouse movement, it often skips the second one, breaking the first and third instead. This can be frustrating.

The game may improve but this damage sound is really annoying. Personal opinion. I would like to ask for a precaution regarding this.

You're absolutely right. I recorded 5-6 episodes but I'll take a look at the rest, maybe a mod or a setting. I'll also state the situation on their Discord.

#1, yeah, that can be jarring.  You can avoid hearing it ever again with this one weird trick...

#2, I am not Tyron, so have no idea what he was thinking at the time, but my guess is that the point was to make that a bit of a skill mini-game, much like forging is, or hunting, or building, or planting, or, well, heck, every action that has a cooldown. It would have been easier to not have cooldowns, so I'm guessing there was a reason for it. And there are a great plenty twitch-friendly games. Fun to find one that intentionally slows down player actions to give the more casual players something to do that caters to their playstyle.

Thanks a lot.
What is that trick?

Personally the delay in pixel shaping doesn't bother me, and I'm a twitchy player a good chunk of the time. To me the delay is barely noticeable because it's so small, and the little bit that I might notice helps keep me focused on more precise actions instead of speeding through everything.

I'm not Tyron either, but if I had to guess, it might be in place to provide a more immersive experience for the crafting. It takes time to shape pottery(speaking from experience here), same as it takes time to butcher a carcass, or pick berries, or complete any of the other tasks the game requires. Now Vintage Story could have made the completions instant, like how the other block game handles things, but it would lose its soul in doing so, I think. Not saying that everything needs to take a lot of time to complete, but one of the main vibes of Vintage Story, in my opinion, is that players are supposed to be intentional in their actions, and not just throwing things together on a whim.

Having a small, definite cooldown might also make it easier to animate the actions as well.
