Pus Posted January 30, 2025 Report Posted January 30, 2025 Hi! 58 year old lady here, new to the game, but enjoying the game every day! I playing vanilla, offline, because of my old pc and bad internet connections. swithshing with explorer and creative, creatures never hostile. Because of som scary experience In the other blockgame, I used to help villagers get better houses, and had fun se them trading eash others and make babyes. Thats a long time ago. In the new update, I find Nadiyan villagers, male and female. And traders. I made a new map, hot climate, lore content close spawn, seasons 30 days. This map is amacing. A lot of normal ruins everywhere, on my flight, trader to trader. visited only 3, this far. And that realy activated my creative. I going to build up new houses from the ruins. Making a market with all the traders, chickens, pigs, farmland and so on. Maybe a bakery, restaurant and so on. Yea I guess you see the picture. A lot of work. The big question is... how do those villagers work? I guess they must have a house with beds. But what about their food and jobs? will they take fluor in a chest and make them self a bread, if they have an oven? will they tend the animals or go out on the farmland and plant seeds if they find that in a chest in their house? Do the items they find in the house, give them jobs related to that? Or will they pick a free job anywhere needed? what about the traders. I guess they need a house with a bed and a pot of food. But... can I put a female willager in a male traders house and the opposite? 2
idiomcritter Posted January 30, 2025 Report Posted January 30, 2025 seems there is a draft on the topic: Nadiya 1

I understand I still have a lot to learn about this game. I guess I have to just try and see what happens and maybe I stumble on to that village. I have no nerves to go to resonance archive yet. First I have to have nerves to mine a cave 1
Maelstrom Posted January 30, 2025 Report Posted January 30, 2025 Maybe some spoiler tags for those of us who haven't gotten there yet? 1

Every Nadiya across every world will have mostly the same cast of familiar faces (aside from the peasants who seem somewhat randomised). There's Alba, the tailor. Agnieszka is one of the blacksmiths, the other being Waclaw. Kat and Pitor are guards, Sedna is the musician. Wall is the herbalist and Gerhardt is the hunter. There's more than this but you can get what I'm saying - these guys have pre-written personalities and professions that are the same in every world. They all live in their own pre-built houses (the village is not randomised) that correspond to their jobs. The only one who I've ever seen actually leave the village is Wall whenever he goes foraging and the peasants when they tend to the farms. The farms are technically not 'real' farms though, they are made out of 'prop crop' blocks. They do have many things to trade, and trading there can be quite fun and profitable. Especially trading with Alba, who sells a plethora of special clothing items. Oh, also you cannot break/place stuff in the village. You could spawn in your own Nadiyan villagers in creative after building houses for them outside the village walls, but they would all be the 'peasant' variety and therefore have no unique dialogue or trades.  Edited January 30, 2025 by ifoz 3

I have not gotten there yet, ether. I find male and female villagers, when switching from gamemode 1 to gamemode 2. And wonder if I can use them as inhabitants in the normal ruins I find, when I build them up.

'peasant' was the ones I was interested in. Its quiet playing on my own, only have the traders to talk to. I going to test them out, se if they eat and sleep and not starve to death, in the first ruin I found. If they eat and sleep, but not doing any jobs, they will work good as pets 1

I think there's also some way in creative to 'program' them where you can set their sleeping point, and set their activities throughout the day. Eg; 'eat breakfast at 8am, walk to smithy, (pretend) to smith items, eat lunch at 2pm, sit in [location] until 5pm, walk home, eat dinner at 7pm, go to bed' 1

And I try to avoid mods because of my low ram. A young lad have buildt this pc, some years ago, not understanding old ladys play games to  I hope it will be something similar in the gameupdates. Villagers spawn in (wake up) and do their own randomly simple stuff in a village, or we can hire them from a trader. 1
