TamTroll Posted March 17, 2025 Report Posted March 17, 2025 Haven't played for awhile (Since before Sailboats were added) and i don't know if I'm misremembering something or what, but the rooms I've got lit up by torches, lanterns, and oil lamps seem so much darker. like, i put an oil lamp down right next to me to try and better see a block I'm chiselling, and it barely does anything. Maybe I'm just misremembering how strong these lights were in the first place, but they just feel a lot dimmer then they used to be.
dakko Posted March 20, 2025 Report Posted March 20, 2025 I thought much the same. Started using a mod, Let There Be Light, and it helped with my eye strain. There are several mods involving light.
Thorfinn Posted March 20, 2025 Report Posted March 20, 2025 I think it's more than one thing. I think the overall brightness might be nudged down a bit, but I'm pretty sure the outdoor brightness (cloud cover, precipitation and fog) reduce the light levels, even if your light source is not from windows or skylights. Cellars with no outside light at all seem brighter on nights with a full moon than a new moon.

I'm 90% sure that the outside lighting affects inside lighting as well, my basement seems way easier to see inside at certain periods in the day.
