7embre Posted July 13, 2025 Author Report Posted July 13, 2025 (edited) Partly finished the bell tower - what's left for it is main entrance and some inside work. At this point I can call the building 90% complete I guess. It's 108 blocks from top to bottom. Edited June 8 by 7embre Compressed pictures from png to jpg to save space 7 3 2
Uishii Posted July 26, 2025 Report Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) Wow, this is insanely detailed. Those archways for the windows are so cool with all their intricacies, I am genuinely inspired. Edited July 26, 2025 by Uishii 2

Yea, I'm planning on publishing this schematic for everyone's use. There's some interior work that I have to complete tho, a couple of finishing touches (namely — basement and bell mechanism). Gotta combine all pictures on the google drive in case someone would be interested in the progress. I haven't updated the post for a while as it requires me to take down older pictures and replace them with new ones — attachment quota is pretty strict :c 1

Provider Posted June 5 Report Posted June 5 Respectfully, you might be an insane crazy person. Amazing work! I can only imagine the diligence it took to do all that chiselwork.

Arsenik Milk Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 Holy. Crap. Looking at this actually kinda gave me a better appreciation of gothic architecture in general. Made me understand the intent of gothic architecture pointing heavenward.
Novell Rasam Posted June 17 Report Posted June 17 This looks amazing! I'm just at awe on all the little details. How did you learn all the in's and out's of a cathedral?

How did you learn all the in's and out's of a cathedral? Chisel go brrrr I guess, for the most part... Seriously though, a lot of time went into research. Much more time than it took to actually build it. I've been on a few pipe organ concerts specifically to get it right. I got a rough idea of what and where to expect to see things inside of a church, after going through hundreds if not thousands photos and videos of real cathedrals and castles. How they are built, logic of a floor plan, ways to make access to many enclosed spaces, what to fill them with - and how each and individual part is made. Souls games and MC Conquest builders actually provided with a lot of useful design tricks as well. When it came to decorations, I just went with my gut lol and had a fair share of fun there. Like why would you see a wolf and an owl on the facade as a gargoyle? No idea! Or a knight, a mason and an astronomer on the roof corners? Or different example with my stained glass windows/tympanums - I could've repeated some religious scenes there, sure, but it wouldn't have a creative touch and my appreciation for the game in them that way - only imitation and recreation. Even crazier to think that folks have been building these FROM STONE a whole thousand years ago, with nothing but geometry, craftsmanship and sheer manpower, in times when education was scarce. Honestly I really hope that those who's been following progress of this build actually know about it being completed already lol 1
rbirdie__ Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 Straight up sorcery this is! Hats off to ya' for this (also how did you not get carpal tunnel or smt while making this)
Tommyboy4307 Posted June 28 Report Posted June 28 this is the best build I've seen in VS, I've been following your progress since the beginning and I'm glad to see it finished, its what inspired me to start making my own cathedral 1
