The wiki is very badly out of date, and only references it for the bowtorn and shiver (the Shiver isn't even listed in the hostile entities list, nor the category for creatures), and *seems* to imply that they'll run away, but not specific behavior if they, for example, can't find a nearby cave.

I ask because I can't find anything about when `minDayLight` was added as a feature, and have had drifters and shivers utterly destroy me during daylight hours because they just roam around, not running underground or despawning.

I mainly ask because a friend is starting the game, and with how awful they make the gameplay experience by just never fleeing, I'm about to tell him to disable surface drifters, even though the rifts are really, really cool

Fair enough, I went through all the changelogs for 1.20 onwards, but not a single mention of mobs and light, aside from a fix for mobs spawning near light sources (although I saw another thread talking about how mobs were not only spawning during the day on the surface, but even within player view)

Aye, does someone have a mod that fixes this, or should I tell my friend that he may be best disabling surface mobs entirely?

Just seems a huge problem that basically will block onboarding players (as if the wolves weren't bad enough :P )
