GrapeBoy Posted June 23, 2025 Report Posted June 23, 2025 After doing a lot of research on the story of. well. you know. vintage story, I started adding in that lore into my private multiplayer server. A lot of my friends are artists, so we'll see if I can convince them to post here too. Either way say hi to Vine!! The father of the family. His name (like the rest of the names of our family of seraphs) isn't his real name, but he doesn't remember what the original was from his previous, human, life. He's a tailor, cook, and a bit emotionless nowadays - but he loves his family terribly despite the circumstances of this strange world they have all awoken in. Next is Vine's wife, Brisket! She's a spunky woman! Neither Vine nor Brisket remember how they met or fell in love, but Vine theorizes it was an 'opposites attract' sort of situation. They aren't too romantic with each other nowadays considering how busy they are at the home, but they always have each other's back. She's the hunter to Vine's cook, always bringing back a huge haul of animals for Vine to butcher and turn into delicious stews and pies. Now for their children. Despite both of the kids having pretty vague genders, Vine just calls them both his sons. First is the older child, who hasn't remembered their name yet nor have they figured out a temp name. Instead, their current nickname is just. 'Miserable Miku'. I'm sure you can see why once you see them. Miku's a bit of a wildcard. They're typically the miner and forager, having been known as a malefactor from before all the family's untimely demise. Apparently Miku spent some time as a blackguard, but how they went from blackguard to malefactor is currently forgotten. They also have a knack for the arts, being the one who chisels the home into shape. And now we have the younger sibling - Petra! The Clockmaker and blacksmith of the family. Compared to their older sibling, Petra is a bit more cheery and interested in their dad's work - after all, Vine and Petra spend the most time at home, one cooking with meat and the other cooking with iron. Despite their sweeter and confident disposition, Petra is still very, very stressed. Being the blacksmith and clockmaker for a whole family means a lot of time building complicated contraptions. They may or may not have picked up a drinking habit. The final 'member' of the family is not really a part at all. Storm is Vine's (and by extension, the rest of the family's) bodyguard. He's a powerful Blackguard, with a mostly stony disposition. Although in their old lives he and Vine had a purely professional relationship, the new situation after becoming Seraphs is more like friends between them now. Oh, and this is where we live! Say thanks to Petra for building the house! Pretty good eye for detail, probably got it from Vine despite his inability to understand architecture. Vine is married to clothes and clothes only - well, and Brisket. And that's it for now! There's a lot more art (and maybe even more characters!) that you'll see, but rn it's good just to get introduced to the players of this story. why, perhaps its even a VINTAGE STOR- (I'm the one who drew Vine and the header. All other art is drawn by my friends in the server!) 5

Maelstrom Posted June 24, 2025 Report Posted June 24, 2025 No sweat. We're a pretty forgiving lot in this community.
GrapeBoy Posted June 28, 2025 Author Report Posted June 28, 2025 We're back! Now that you know all the members, this can actually act as a diary of events lol. Out of all of the family, Vine remembers the most of his past life, but that isn't saying much. It is only the vaguest of memories, but helpful in figuring out how to survive the wilderness. The start of the family's adventure was much like other seraph's; an exploration of the area with many, many mishaps. Vine kept the family together (perhaps being a bit bossy) and built them a small shack to start with, along with picking up the duties of cooking. The children loved panning, which was good especially for copper. Miku picked it up especially well. Thankfully the family also had a treasure trader nearby named Innis. Quite a nice old guy. Miku also became good friends with him with all the rusty gears that were dug up. Unfortunately with the early start, this meant the first year of the family's adventures would be very flax-less. Even when Vine started up a farm to pass the time, it was mostly turnips. That's fine- plenty of time to find some real copper mines, right? Wrong. The area the family had awoken in was. Not really a good place for copper. Thankfully copper was eventually found, but surely any other seraph would have found a perfectly good vein of copper in any other place than ours. Oh well. With copper being found, Petra focused on both building the house and working the copper. Vine taught them that too. By the first winter the house was finished, along with tin bronze armor - time to go to the first story location, the Resonance Archives!! Next time anyway :] 5
