a single play through

How long do you typically play a single playthrough (multiplayer or singleplayer) before you want to start over again?

mine is around 200 hours.

Before I answer I've a question for you; How do you count your hours played??

For worlds that I'm interested enough in to actually play, they probably last about a hundred hours or so on average before I'm ready to start over. When I do start over, it's usually due to either messing around with mods, or the release of a new update.

Save files should automatically track and display how many hours you've spent playing that save file. The total played for each file will be listed under the world name on the world selection screen. For multiplayer worlds though...you're out of luck. I don't think your hours played are tracked in multiplayer.

When I get the urge to start over I just dump everything in a chest and run thousands of blocks away and start from scratch there. Usually I do this because of terrain generation updates. But I would say around the 100 hour mark.

That's about what I do

I'll build a place, make everything I wanna make, and once that itch to start anew gets too strong I just. Pack a full inventory of everything I wish to keep, and travel a couple thousand blocks out until I find a promising location.

Maybe I'll venture back for more forgotten stuff, but never the less this is a new enough experience to satisfy that "Make a new world" itch. Especially if I'm moving over with Steel tools :P
