Roof Help

Hi all looking for help how to design a roof for this build I've tried using a couple different options like the one roof mod but is not proving very useful. New player so this is just testing for my home base would be cool to get some tips. Thanks!

Roof it on that layer with the typical roof blocks and inner/outside corners. Then maybe add another smaller layer to the top? Make it like a tower. Then, roof that smaller layer the same way and it should look cool.

Maybe clay shingles or simple thatch roofing (since you're early in your game plus it just looks better)?

Be ready for some frustration learning how to target placing the inner/outer corner roof blocks.

I'd say the best is to test and retry on creative to see what feel the best for you, maybe try to see other's build and irl image of houses/towers/construction to take inspiration. Depending on what you want, checking on the traditional construction side could be also a source of inspiration.

You can also see if making a roof overhang suits your aesthetic. And, as mattk2003 said, the roof material is important. Thatch is actually good on early game. I like slate too as an alternative to shingle. If only sod wasn't coming with aged plank texture, I think lots of my roof would be that (and that is in this case that One-Roof come handy).

This was really insightful. Thanks! Off I go to play around with the roof design...with some excitement of what is possible once I get my hands on a chisel one of these days.
