Ding, ding ding!! We have a winner, thank you Dorf. It is from the first episode, first scene. Wallace is lamenting "these bank holidays...", notices there is no cheese in the house, decides to "go where there's cheese" and of course, builds a rocket because "everybody knows the moon is made of cheese". Classic, the whole series. 1
vkmyers Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 Wallace and Gromit is a classic joy. I see I was beaten to the reference, sigh. So does 7th time the charm mean release date is nigh? Or does it continue to depend on the chaos of gaming code NOT deciding to spawn more bugs when fixing old bugs?

I think it means hopefully enough bugs can be swatted this time for things to be considered stable enough for a proper stable release, instead of another release candidate. 1 1
Moltrey Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 There were an awful lot of swatted bugs with rc7, so perhaps we might get, dare I say... lucky? 1 1

It seems like most of the major ones have been fixed, but I'd also wager the devs are being extra careful this time around, since 1.20 had some issues when it launched. Better a little extra time and get a smooth launch, than to push it out before it's ready and have a rocky start. 2

Well if you'd quit looking for bugs, then they wouldn't have as many to swat! LOL I see you on the github 3

R0N Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 Fixed: Camera inside player head when in 3rd-person mode and against walls Finally. As I said a while ago, the 3rd person mode doesn't get nearly enough love. Just because the game is inspired by "that other block game" doesn't mean it has to be exactly like it. 3rd person mode should be a valid way to play the game. Now we just need the hitbox issues fixed. 2
Archadria Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 Not sure if this has existed pre 1.21 but we are running into player client issues with multi-material chiseled blocks.
Ryilo Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 What kind of issues? I multi-material chiseled a section of a house and didn't notice anything, can you be more specific?
Dorf Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 How stable is the unstable? I can't hold out any longer for full release. Any game-breaking bugs or crashes?

To me it seems pretty stable, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be an issue lurking somewhere. Best to go visit the bug tracker, take a look at the recent reports, and decide for yourself whether or not you want to mess with the release candidate. 1

I tend to have my render distance just high enough to see Geoffery(The Thunderlord Mech), and then Farseer on top of that, it really makes the world look beautiful. 1
