Hey hey people ^_^ New server launches today.

There were various issues that we ironed out in the previous server, but I also wasn't happy with the world gen so we decided to start afresh.

The new world has better functioning rivers, 1000's of blocks of oceans and small islands separating the occasional small-medium sized continent - one of which is home to our spawn town, Deadman's Bluff.

There's a starter kit with 20 gears to spend in the town, its currently spring, but Fur Clothes will be stocked in the clothes shop for anyone that joins in winter.

No whitelist, no password, just join :)

Server Hosted in the UK by a good host company. We've had players as far away as Arizona join without issues.

Light RP, with a fantasy-pirate kinda vibe. Suitable for solo survival play or civilization building. Dungeons and main story will reset every game-year.

That sounds great. I will join today in the Afternoon. by the way, new player here ^^

will mainly go for a RP playstyle and probably try and trade with specific materials/wares.

Hey,  look forward to seeing you. And yes, we prefer a minimum of light RP, but more is fine. There's a guy setting up in one of the ruins that's also new to the game. Not all the shops are done in the town yet, but if there's somethin missing that you want to buy or sell I'll see what  can do.

Already more than half of the surface veins of copper have been found I'm guessing (on the starter island at least), so trade is going to be your main way of getting copper tools. Though bone-pickaxes from the butcher's mod is enabled which can break stone but not ores - will make your copper pickaxe go a bit further. Or you can do another trade like hunting, cooking, leatherwork, fishing, farming or charcoal burning and not mine at all. Potion making is also an option, although we're all too poor still to afford that :P

By the way, we have the extra classes mod, and I chose Alchemist. You can be an alchemist also, but then we'd both be competing for ingredients.

If you want to try explore the ocean for new land you can, most directions i didnt explore yet, it was just that the one direction you choose to swim I knew was 7000 blocks of ocean and tiny islands XD

20/09/25 UPDATES

 

So I have been debating adding a canoe seller on the dock for people that want to set off for new land, but have decided against it. A canoe is not hard to build, you get 20 gears as a starter kit (although we had issues with the kits, so message me if you didn't get it and I will give it to you directly) - with those gears you can get a saw from the blacksmith to make a bucket for the pitch glue (which you need for the canoe). You would then also need about 2 stacks of berries to survive at sea. All of this would take you a couple of days to achieve. I will add bottles of water for sale at the tavern so you can use those together with non-hydrating food if you want to spend your gears on that instead (a saw will cost you 10 gears so you will have 10 left over).

A few new animals added today (still waiting for a lot of the sea creatures), most of them eat you but there's a few friendly ones. Also added animal cages in case you want to make a zoo ^_^

Also, for some reasons cave-ins disabled itself and nothing I do will re-enable it, but its fine, we have enough challenges already.

That's it for now, we have auroux with the Medieval Mod, and I'm still waiting on Elephants/Mammoth. 

(Currently incompatible with butchery mod but I spoke with the modder and he says they're working on it)

that discord link isnt working for me, is there voice coms in game like proximity chat kind of thing or is most communication and RP just done with text?

Made some changes, should be discoverable now with the link. 

And yes, only in-game text for now, but I should definitely make more use of discord so we can reserve the in-game chat for RP stuff, but of course you can join a call in discord if you want to chat with someone in game We can try proximity chat again soon, I will have a look and see if they fixed the bugs. Down a Bismuth mine right now ^_^

Ok, the RP Proximity voice mod seems to be working better now (before we could hear our own voices with some delay which made it unuseable). Also added proximity text chat mod. You will need to remap keybind for the chisel tools (P) so you can access the VC menu.

Also just as you said allready, dont make traveling the Oceans (Which are big part of the World) to easy. Leaving it like now, feels fair. 

Yea, I agree. Already are some oceanic fish added with other mods, but there's a few more I'm waiting to update. You can buy flax in the spawn town, although I intentionally made it very expensive.

If anyone got log in authentication issues today, the fix is to logout of your VS client (not just close it),  and log back in again. 

 

Edit - (authentication now turned off temporarily, so you won't be able to find the server unless you already have it saved. Will change that back once people who don't use forums know about the issue)

UPDATE

Adding a miners shop to Deadman's Bluff that's buying and selling low-mid tier ores and gems - mid level players need a more reliable source of gears and overall we need more gears in the economy.

If I get around to it today I will also be adding potions and Temporal gears to be bought and sold at the Wizards Tower, and a Gacha Machine in the Tavern.

OK, bad news and good news, bad news - previous world was corrupted beyond repair and even pulling files from older back-ups couldn't fix the issues. 
Good News - We can take the opportunity to update to 1.21.1 which has multiplayer improvements, and most of the mods we were using already support it. An older version of the spawn town is saved in world edit.
Also it seems that most modders are focusing on the 1.21.1 version as ts overall a better version, so we were unlikely to get the fixes we needed for the mods we had issues with in the previous version. Additionally, now everyone that joined after midsummer will be able to grow flax before winter.
I will announce here when the new world is ready, if you join before then it may be in a test world and any progress might be lost.
