Food spoilage rate seems out of control (v1.12.11)

Hi there,

every time i update to a newer version, the time my food shoul last is reduced by a large amount.

Especially with the actual version v1.12.11 the spoilage rate is abolutely out of control: the food is rotting away in my hands (and in my containers) within minutes! Reducing the spoilage rate with worldconfig option doesn't change anything. Even when i set it down to zero, the food is loosing it's time: every few seconds it goes 0.1 hour down, i can just watch it like a movie ....

Are you in a tropical area/desert?  Heat makes food spoil faster.   And what food specifically do you mean?   raw meat in your inventory would indeed spoil rather fast.

Also, are you using any mods?  Or have you messed with any time commands?

It's cooked meat, bread, raw vegetables and berries, the same food i have/had all the time. And I'm in the same area, where I have been playing since some weeks (some kind of woodlands/meadows). It just started with the update to version 1.12.11.

I'm using no mods (ok survival is a "mod", but that's all) and I changed food spoilage speed to 50% and hunger rate to 75% (directly in the beginning in the process of world creation).

Even when i was just standing in my house with full health, full saturation bar and doing nothing, the saturation bar was running down extremely fast.

For the moment I went back to v1.12.8 where those problems didn't exist, because updating to 1.12.9 already killed about half of my food, preserved in clay jugs in a cellar (food that was good for several weeks before updating).

(unfortunately that version 1.12.8 has the problem, that the game process often "dies" in pause mode which i use, when  I am afk for a while).

Could you try changing the hunger rate in the world using the command /worldconfig foodSpoilSpeed [0-10]?   It sounds like your setting should be .5, but the default is 1.   I don't know if perhaps using it without a number would echo back the current setting (it might just tell you the 0-10 range allowed)

I wonder if the number somehow got set to 5, rather than .5?  Which would make it spoil 5x faster if so.   The decimal point is important.   You might also try starting a new world in 12.11 and see if you have the same problem.    If a new 12.11world doesn't have the problem, that it would seem reasonable to assume that the problem is some kind of config in that specific world.

I already tried to set/reset the value with the option  /worldconfig foodSpoilSpeed [value]
I tried it with 0.5 ... 0.3 .... 0.7 ... and with 0,5 (just in case, I'm German, haha) AND I tried the value 0, to find out what happens, but even then the food still ran to it's EOL very fast.

Ok I just tried that (again with 50% already set in world creation) and it looks like the food behaves correct here. So the problem comes with something the update does to my world ...

But still:  the time the food should last is not the same I am used to from my old world / the old version (about half of the time). Food spoilage speed = 0.5 in v1.12.11 seems to be different from 0.5 in prior versions, what at least explains the "drop" on the times of all my food

Oh wow I think I got it, my game/world is working with v1.12.11 now (still with some little differences in spoilage speed and hunger rate but ok).

What I did today was deleting & uninstalling the game completely and then I did a clean full install of v1.12.11.

While in the last days (I think) I only did the update on the existing installation of a prior version. For getting back to previous version I uninstalled the game of cause, but for getting "up" I just used the update (I tried it several times to figure out a way to solve the food/hunger-problem).

Well at least this is what I think it was the reason .... maybe I find time in the next days to do some more tries/tests on it.
