YesYobby Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 Unless I haven't found it, I noticed there's no kind of meta block that could say, seal a room without being detectable by the player. This would make having an open-plan house a little easier, since it would prevent it from being detected as outdoors! 1
Teh Pizza Lady Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 Maybe for creative building it would be cool, but I can't really see a use for it in survival or even really a way to craft it. For any enclosed space to count as a room, it has to be within a certain size and the interior faces of the blocks can have no more than 32 voxels missing. Cellars are limited to 7x7x7 in volume and regular interior rooms have a max size of 14x14x14. If you're unsure if the room you're in counts, you can use the /debug room hi command to check and see if it's a room. It will light up green if it is, red if it is not. To remove the highlighting, just run a similar command /debug room unhi Hopefully this helps in the meantime! Good luck with your building and let me be the first to say WELCOME to the forums!
YesYobby Posted October 24, 2025 Author Report Posted October 24, 2025 I know! But my house has open archways that end up counting the rooms in total as an exterior. I'm not too picky on cheating, so even if I could get it in creative I'd be happy. All I'd need is to plug up my archways with the sealant blocks. Thank you, by the way!
Teh Pizza Lady Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 yeah I can definitely see a need for such a block. I had a pretty massive lodge I had built for my hunter and it had large doorways and a huge fireplace between two rooms and it was definitely not counting as a room in several places. unfortunately.
Thorfinn Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 Have you looked to see what attributes make a block suitable for a room, then add those attributes to a copy of the air block? Just let it use the same texture and all as the air block, and add those attributes? 1
Teh Pizza Lady Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 probably a JSON edit in a mod if I had to guess. 1
Facethief Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 I think that, if such a block was added to survival, it could be a cutain or drape. It’d fit nicely with the tone of the game, and it would be something that wouldn’t need additional tech beyond what’s in the game. 5
Teh Pizza Lady Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 That's actually a brilliant idea.
