Sam Morris Posted October 24, 2025 Report Posted October 24, 2025 In the real world, clay is mineral. Now there's a difference between the mineral clay, and a deposit of clay in nature. But the main difference is that the deposit is usually a mixture of various clay minerals and other mineral types. The mining bag advertises the ability to hold minerals, but it does not hold clay. Now I'm being somewhat lazy and assuming that my mods are not causing some conflict that disables the mining bags ability to hold clay. So please call me out if I am wrong here. But assuming that this is just a vanilla thing, I think the mining bag holding clay makes a lot of sense. TLDR: please allow blue clay, red clay, and fire clay to be carried in the mining bags because clay is a mineral. 6 1
Professor Dragon Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 I'd love a bag that not only holds clay, but dirt as well. I don't mind if we have to craft a separate bag to the current mining bags - just let me be able to carry large amounts of dirt (and clay, sand and gravel) please. Although it wouldn't be too bad if one bag did both ores and clay/dirt - because it is a rare mining expedition indeed where you don't get dirt as well as ores, especially with "falling blocks" enabled.
Facethief Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 Don’t call me a dirtbag! It’s rude! In all seriousness, the only reason I wouldn’t want a bag for dirt and such is that it’d let me bring too much dirt home. 1
Zane Mordien Posted October 25, 2025 Report Posted October 25, 2025 I like the idea after some thought. Early game it would be overpowered, but you won't have a mining bag until bronze if I remember right. At that time it would be a good reward and small time saver. Clay is usually so close to your base that this would probably only greatly impact fireclay or if you wanted blue clay and it was far away. 2
