SrFrodoSwaggins Posted November 23, 2025 Report Posted November 23, 2025 (edited) I'm brand new to the game and on my first play through. I just got done letting my first copper anvil cool in the mold and its time to remove it. The mold is made of red clay and its in my shelter so it didn't get wet and crack. I'm not using any mods. The issue is that its telling me "This mold must be broken to remove the contents". This didn't seem right and it took me forever to find enough copper to do this so out of caution I did a little research and everything I'm seeing says this is a bug and not to break the mold as it will waste the copper. I've reloaded the game but still cant get the anvil out. Are there any other fixes for this aside from using console commands? Also, if I'm posting this in the wrong place please let me know. Solution hstone32 Posted November 23, 2025 Solution Report Posted November 23, 2025 it's a new thing. Before the last major update, you could right click to take it out. Now, the mold must be broken. If you're still unsure, try making a creative world and trying it there. 1 1

General google searches on this were very misleading. 1

That's why many people recommend using an alternative world that is switched to creative to test this kind of thing. 1

It could also be some players didn't read the patch notes for whatever reason, and broke the anvil mold before the metal inside was completely cooled. If the player does this, they will get a mess they will have to resmelt, instead of an anvil they can use. 1
